Anenih Resigns From Peoples Democratic Party, Cites Family And Personal Reasons by ogugwa1992(op): 12:18am On Aug 19, 2025
Ose Anenih, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and son of one of the late founding fathers of the People’s Democratic Party, Chief Tony Anenih, has announced his immediate resignation from the party, marking the end of his long-standing association with one of Nigeria’s major political platforms.

In a letter addressed to the Ward Chairman of the PDP in Arue Ward 3, Uromi, Edo State, Anenih cited personal reflection and the need to prioritize family and other responsibilities as the driving factors behind his decision.

In his resignation letter, Anenih described the decision as one reached after careful consideration, emphasizing his deep connection to the PDP. “From the very beginning, I have stood with the PDP through its triumphs and its trials, bound by a belief in the promise of Nigerian democracy and in the ideals that first drew me to the Umbrella,” he wrote.

He expressed gratitude for the friendships, lessons, and opportunities to serve that shaped his political and personal journey within the party.

Anenih, however, stated that he is stepping away from partisan politics to focus on family and other pressing commitments. Despite his exit from the PDP, he reaffirmed his dedication to Nigeria’s progress, pledging to remain active in intellectual and civic discussions aimed at improving governance and the welfare of Nigerians. “Ideas, policy, and principled debate remain essential tools for shaping our nation’s future, and I look forward to playing my part in that work,” he noted.

The resignation letter also conveyed appreciation to the PDP’s leadership and members for their support and camaraderie over the years. Anenih wished the party well and expressed optimism for a Nigeria that fulfills its potential for all citizens.

Anenih’s departure comes at a time of heightened political activity in Edo State, with the PDP navigating internal dynamics and preparing for future electoral contests. His exit may prompt discussions within the party about its direction and cohesion in the region.

PDP and APC will see a wave of resignations before 2027 especially with them being cited or referenced as a potential criminal organization.

A thorough research needs to be done on how Peter was unable to destroy APGA.

PDP and LP he successfully destroyed, and with no doubts, he will destroy ADC.

What did APGA do to survive the destruction?

Education is not going to school or passing through college. Education is passing through college or university and the college or university passing through you. A food for thought for some NLders.

If not for his surname "Anenih", nobody would have known or recognised him. There are just some people that can't survive in an opposition because they are almost nobody in that opposition, unfortunately, he is one of such. He will now decamp to APC and his surname will continue to procure a position for him as it has always done, which will empower him financially to continue to preserve those left behind by his father, Tony Anenih sad

Because Ikema spirit is so strong and he knew Peter Obi's treacherous tendencies. So he put so many clauses.

Had Asue Ighodalo won the election, would he have resigned from the PDP?

Many of these people never believed in Asue Ighodalo, they just assumed he was their best bet for visibility. I hope Asue has learnt now and would get a formidable, loyal team in future.

As for Ose, take a cue from Mr Fix It, Chief Tony Anenih, a formidable and fanatical loyalist in the PDP. Tony was not associated with any other party from 1999 until he died. If you want to leave the party, at least have a legacy of winning an election or having a high level appointment. Tony made his name through his exploits. Show your own.

Resigning from PDP less than two months after Supreme Court ruled in favour of Okpebolo is not what a Tony Anenih would do.

i sympathize with PDP on this wave of defections across the federation but this might be a blessing in disguise.
If they can put their house in order , they would come back stronger in the next two election cycle.
