There are such cases where you feel removing the knife will led to uncontrollable bleeding and the patient could have died, so at that instant leaving the knife there keeps the patient alive. I believe that the first doctors that treated him as he mentioned earlier knew about it but feels he have chance of surviving with the knife than removing it when the wound is fresh or they don't want him to die under their custody. My thought though.

There was no first surgery. He was involved in a knife fight and his wounds were cleaned without knowing that there is a knife inside him. You should take time to read.

He got treatment at the time but didn't know the knife had been lodged inside him. Weird and scary, unusual.
Imagine one of the two patients in this report going for MRI! That would be instant death

On a lateral view chest X-ray, only the edges of the knife will show ; in a wire like string appearance and not the flat body . Also if the knife made a hole on its path across the chest to enable ours to come out, why then is the knife behind the sternum on the image?
Thirdly, the heart is oriented just a the point below the breast. Why did the knife miss it?

Doubting Thomas. How him won take know somebody wey dem attack to kpai, you know read the story well, say dem matchet am brutally and him fit dey unconscious when dem take am to hospital that time. Na luck the guy get, if you like no believe. Make we just thank God for him life and pray say make e no happen to person if not hmmm

He learnt that it's possible for knife to go through someone chest and miraculously evade all major organs and stay for donkey years without any harm. This is a rare occurrence though. 😂.. it's good to read though

Without any major harm. His body was being harmed by the presence of the knife but it was not really serious (though it might turn life-threatening if further left alone).

You should read the post properly. He had an altercation some years back and the altercation most likely involved a knife fight. He got stabbed, the handle of the knife probably broke away from the entire knife and the doctors obviously didn't do any scan on him as they could have felt it was not necessary - just treated his wounds and allowed him to go home.

He got stabbed, the handle of the knife probably broke away from the entire knife and the doctors obviously didn't do any scan on him as they could have felt it was not necessary - just treated his wounds and allowed him to go home.
