Lithium Processing Plant At Endo, Nasarawa State 🇳🇬
Endo, in Nasarawa State, is fast becoming Nigeria’s lithium powerhouse, attracting huge global investments that promise jobs, skills, and economic growth. A $250 million plant by Ganfeng Lithium is underway, designed to process 18,000 tonnes of lithium daily, that’s about 4.5 million tonnes each year.

Wow this is great 👍

Wow this is massive projects here. I think lithium minerals are much in the southwest too.

It looks a bit organized but I am not impressed. I checked a good number of Lithium plants , i think nassarawa deserves more than this. If I have my way a medium sized facility for manufacturing batteries will not be out of place

You're not impressed with a Lithium processing plant but you're more impressed with a brewery factory, funny people, Lol.

They say Tinubu's policy is propaganda but foreign direct investment are coming in. I pity you, keep talking nonsense on your keyboard.

Nasarawa State is one state immensely blessed by nature...

It should be the richest state in Nigeria 🇳🇬 if the country truly knows its worth as a nation.

Nasarawa State is the Congo of Nigeria.

Mined, processed and shipped out to China as raw material. Then use it to produce finished lithium batteries sold to Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world at a much higher price.

Honestly, sometimes it feels sad to be a Nigerian cry
Re: Lithium Processing Plant In Endo, Nasarawa State (Pics) by DesChyko: 9:29pm On Aug 19, 2025
If it's not being processed to be used for production here in Nigeria, then it is a useless venture.

Let cure your ignorance. President Tinubu is poised to making Nigeria mining sector work.

Lithium processing plants refine raw lithium extracted from various sources (brine, spodumene ore) into usable forms like lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide, essential components in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and other technologies. These plants ensure the lithium is purified and converted into the specific chemical compounds needed for various applications.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of the functions:
1. Extraction and Purification:
From Brine:
Lithium is extracted from salt lake brines through evaporation and precipitation processes, followed by further concentration and purification.
From Spodumene:
Spodumene ore is processed to extract lithium through chemical reactions, often involving conversion to lithium hydroxide.

Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE):
DLE technologies are also used, which selectively capture lithium ions from brines or other sources and then recover the lithium through chemical or electrochemical processes.
2. Conversion to Battery-Grade Materials:
The extracted lithium is typically converted into lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide, the forms commonly used in battery production.
Carmeuse Systems provides lime slaking equipment and dry chemical handling systems to support this conversion process in lithium hydroxide plants.
3. Quality Control and Final Processing:
The lithium compounds undergo further processing, including washing and drying, to meet the stringent quality standards required for battery manufacturing.
Some plants also focus on upcycling mining and industrial waste to produce value-added products.

This Chinese plant. I think there are about four of them on that loko road; the biggest should be Avatar. The problem i have with these Chinese companies is the way their trailers hit people on that road. And they hardly pay any compensation.

You probably don't know meaning of processing. Elon Musk wanted to import our raw lithium but he was told to bring his company here which he refused. This will be processed into battery. Solar batteries and panels prices are falling badly

He alluded to something totally unrelated.

If I understand him correctly, how does this put money in the Nigerian treasury? Why export raw materials and not finished products? Is there a contract we can see that stipulates what Nigerians have to gain from this? Or one that reveals orders that have been placed by electric cars companies and the likes?

Gold exports generated about $5million dollars last year from the vast gold reserves we have in Nigeria. Too little in my opinion.
I downloaded the Nigerian solid mineral report document and a lot of things didn’t add up.

https://msmd.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/2020-Annual-Report-4.pdf
Note when it was last updated…

China exports aluminum from Nigeria in large quantities but we don’t see the benefits.

The real fear in my opinion is not just about exporting raw materials but privatizing national assets like they did with oil wells.

Will they add the money from here when sharing monthly revenue? Or is it only Niger Delta oil that all the states in Nigeria are sharing the revenue?
