A young woman has shocked many after reportedly filing for divorce just one week after her wedding, citing domestic violence as the reason for the split.

The story was shared by a user identified as Kunle on X (formerly Twitter), who disclosed that his friend took the bold step after her husband slapped her only two days after the wedding ceremony. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

According to him, the woman’s father immediately intervened by having the groom arrested over the assault.

Kunle wrote:
“My friend filed for a divorce a week after her wedding because her husband slapped her 2 days after said wedding. Her dad arrested him as well.”
