Take ordinary **NIN** or **NPC registration** — one small thing can turn into endless back-and-forth:
- Go here, come back tomorrow.
- *“Network no dey.”*
- Rules suddenly change overnight.
- Website crashes the exact moment you need it most.

Same wahala with **passports, driver’s license, voter’s card**… everything is unnecessarily complex.

And the funny part is, the average citizen only wants a simple, step-by-step process. But instead, what we get is confusion, frustration, and in the end many people just give up or pay middlemen.

Honestly, clarity shouldn’t be this hard to get in 2025.

I honestly didn’t expect this post to get this much attention, but wow... Over 7,000 people have viewed it in less than two days. That tells me one thing — many Nigerians are seriously looking for correct info on how to legally process the tinted glass permit without wahala.

Now, based on the questions I’ve received (over 50+ messages and counting), I want to clear a few things for everyone following:

✔️ Yes — the Police Tinted Permit is still active and free to apply for online.
✔️ Yes — you can apply yourself, but there are some technical steps that usually confuse people (especially the medical report part, document upload, and appointment issues).
✔️ No — you don't need a “connection” if you follow the proper process, but you do need to be careful not to make mistakes that delay approval or trigger rejection.

Can a Medical certificate from a private clinic work or must be a government Hospital.

What to prepare before applying
• Your NIN
• Car particulars (valid and matching)
• A medical or security-related reason for needing tint — especially in Lagos
• A scan of your driver’s license
• Your medical report (not just anything written, a proper one o)

Once you gather these, you can start the process from the police portal. If done right, you’ll get your Application Code and move through the approval stages. Some people even get the full permit within 3 to 7 working days.

2. Proceed with the application. Pay the permit fees online via Remita.
3. After payment, wait for an SMS or email inviting you to the State Police Command you selected.
4. When you go, make sure you bring all your original vehicle documents, as they will need to manually inspect the car and the chassis number to confirm its identity.
