I am not sure the police handled the case professionally. They ought to have left out the rape report from the public. Then, they said it was the trauma that made her travel to London. Later on, we heard rumors that the robbers got her infected. Nobody knows how true all that was then. What we know was that she died in a London flat. I remember her AJAYI was spelt AJAI. Then, as a female newscaster on Nta network, you'd be considered a diva.
True , to make it as a newscaster on NTA network then was a big deal. You turn to a celebrity and become famous. Probably due to the fact competition was almost non existent. The likes of AIT, DBN , Channels were just taking off then.

Na wah o, it comes as quite a surprise to realize that this very well-known and much-admired woman passed away a full 25 years ago, yet I am only finding out about it today. This startling revelation makes me wonder if this oversight happened because I stopped watching the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) many years ago, or it's possibly due to the absence of social media platforms like Facebook and others, which so effectively spread news in today's world, making information go viral almost instantaneously? Whatever the reason, I am genuinely shocked by this discovery. Ha, Rest In Peace, ma.

They're everywhere. I remember a particular formal governor that connive with SARS to kill some youths and their corpses were thrown in a popular river of the state. May the spirits of our brothers rest in perfect peace.

She used to live in the next house to my Parents house in Festac Town around the 1980's.

My Mom admired her a lot !

I remember her passing away like yesterday.
Was she living with her parents at the time, or she was living alone?

Rape and armed robbery in Kemi Badenock’s UK.
Thought UK has zero crime rate
What a shame
The armed robbery and rape happen here in Nigeria before she flee to the UK.
It was written in the report but because you don't like Kemi due to her view on Nigeria you decide to make a fool of yourself.

She committed suicide because she was raped.
Actress Ajayi Lycett was raped also and still living her life.

She could have simply relocated abroad.
Why cause her loved ones pain?
Did it stop the news of her rape from being remembered 25 years after?

What doesn't kill you make you stronger, in this case, she killed herself

In the first place, that a robbery and rape occurred in the UK is baffling to me. She must’ve lived in a rough neighbourhood. Her committing suicide afterward is more surprising. Everybody has their beliefs. Fear of the unknown sent her to the grave.
it didn't happen in the UK, it happened in Nigeria, see there were some robbers tagged as corporate robbers back then , they dressed nicely and even travelled from Lagos to Abuja by flight just to rob people, amongst them was a very ugly guy that loved raping anytime they robbed a place, this guy ravaged this poor lady and infected her with the deadly disease, so when she realized she was infected she did the only sensible thing.

The robbery actually happened here in Nigeria, the name of the man that raped her is Udi, and she wasn't the only one the man raped, Udi gave long list of many popular women he had raped during many of their robberies, but Tokunbo Ajai was well known all over the country and she was in London when the news got to her and later died there which made many to suspect that she committed suicide. A friend from igbara odo in ekiti state told me she was from there, very sad story.

Yes, the guy Udi was so ugly he had no girlfriend with all the money he made from robberies.

The same Jesus who oversaw the enslavement of Africans for centuries? There are thousands of blacks still enslaved in the Middle East today. If that is a god, I will stay godless instead.

If I call you out in public to prove the efficacy of your god and prayer you will sly me with “do not test the lord your god”. There’s always a ready made answer to the failures of your god.
