Sam Olumekun, INEC’s national commissioner and chairman, information and voter education committee, confirmed this in a statement on Monday, August 18. “The portal went live at 8.30 a.m., and by 3.30 p.m., 69,376 Nigerians had already pre-registered online,” he said.
