2. Fingerprinting to identify the device/IP sending the request if they try to randomize it.

DDOS is the easiest to prevent against.

That is a spoofing attack oo.May appear like the attacker is NIMC but there a MITH(Man in the Middle somewhere) whose duty is spoof the Mac address of the NIMC Router.This is Why Organisations and other institutions need to sensitise their STAFF on the imminent danger of cyber attack which regrettably is part of our large society.
My mind tells me there is an insider job.
