school no be scam.
It's debt serviced not debt accrued.

It means Tinubu has paid or cleared more Nigeria's debt in 2 years than any other president in the history of Nigeria bar buhari.

It's positive stat for him.
If he is paying down debt, then why is the total debt on his watch greater than previous presidents huh

That buhari was simply a waste in human form. I am yet to see anything good he achieved.

How is 75% in less than two years of what his expired northerner spent in eight years, equal to serious efforts?

What arithmetic formula does that?

Meanwhile, any logical explanation for why ebilokan is borrowing more money than previous presidents after his $84 billion subsidy savings that has made petrol and everything else very expensive and choking people huh
Nigeria’s debt is $2 billion less than he met it. What are you talking about?

This is interesting.

During GEJJonathan, oil boom average of $110 per barrel, average of 2.2 mbpd yet left huge debt. No infrastructures projects, and borrowed to pay salaries.
Ask yourself how much was Nigeria debt or how much did Jonathan administration borrowed?
Secondly is Tinubu paying for subsidy?
Was Jonathan administration paying subsidy?
In two years Tinubu has borrowed what Jonathan did not borrow in 6 years.
It you answer those questions then we will know who is deceiving who.

GEJ was a very, very clueless human being as Nigeria's President.

Numbers don't lie. APC: 19.54 billion debt.
PDP: 9.32 billion debt. Logical conclusion: APC has ruined the economy and finances of this country.

He doesn't need to borrow to live any life he wants.... borrowing in itself isn't bad thing but it's judicious utility is the challenge......there is no way you can work this country without borrowing......the USA is still the most indebted nation in the world.

This is not correct. The 110 dollars Hugh was for barely 2 years during Jonathan's tenure. Let us be truthful please

Just two years he don services with 8. Sumtinz, before he go finished four years, the debt service will increase to 16/17 billions dollars! D highest in history
I doubt you even have any iota of comprehension on what debt servicing means because it's obvious based on your jaundiced statement......you have to service your debts whether you like it or not.

He was completely clueless, had zero vision. He is a typical example of who should never be a President. Insecurity started in Nigeria under him including Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen cos he couldn't do the basic of mobilizing the State resources to nip it at the bud. He went to sleep and allowed the monster to grow. He didn't know you need to build infrastructures for the future like President Sisi of Egypt and Rwanda's President did.

Thank God we have a President that is changing our countries infrastructure.
yet you are jobless and 10k now is equivalent to 160k during GEJ time. Continue crying is it not same cartel ruling that supported rise of boko haram and write that GEJ government not to be supported because it was fighting North and not BH. he wanted removing subsidy your Lord was protesting and now he removed yet you can't move. So shut up your ideas are irrelevant to GEJ

Omo. Why was GEJ so clueless though. Last time I saw the reserve thread. He literally shredded everything. It got worse under him that his own minister had to cry out how they were borrowing to pay debt. GEJ had the biggest oil boom era, services little debt but somehow still mismanage the economy. What happen? Could it be the subsidies or what exactly?
Guy you need to be in Abuja then, the common man on the street had dollars cash. Niger delta boys flexing transcorp Hilton like water, premium sports cars were driven on the street. That man is supposed to be in jail on a good day. There's no capital projects attributed to his government not even his state or south south benefitted. I was at a function in 2017, a Lebanese man was blasting Buhari for not freeing money 🤔

It represents both principal and interest paid to service our national debt.
So why were most of the posts above me sounding like these were the amounts each government has so far borrowed?

I started losing an understanding of the word "servicing".

On the reverse this showed that our debt is too much. It is a testimony to the high rate of borrowing by this administration. If in less than 2 years he is paying more in servicing than 8 years of Obasanjo, then that is a serious cause for worry. As an auditor if your external debt servicing is too high, then we need to scrutinise your borrowings clearly.

We are not clearing any debt stop confusing people. What is showing here is a serious cause for concern of in 2 years our debt servicing is too high then it mean our public debt is too high to warrant the huge expense in debt servicing. First of all you people have failed to show what percentage of the revenue of country has been alloted for debt servicing.

Guy stop trying to half smart. You are trying to deceive people. Debt servicing simply refers to paying the interest the actual debt is still there. For Tinubu to be paying this much on debt servicing in two years more than Obasanjo's 8 years is a clear indication that he has added more to the public debt that we have let us speak the truth.

Truly school na scam for the laptop people.

Nigeria’s public debt rose to N149.39tn in Q1 2025 – DMO
28th June 2025

Nigeria’s total public debt rose to N149.39tn as of March 31, 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of N27.72tn or 22.8 per cent compared to the N121.67tn recorded in the corresponding period of 2024.

The figure, released by the Debt Management Office on Friday, also reflects a quarter-on-quarter increase of N4.72tn or 3.3 per cent from N144.67tn as at December 31, 2024.

The persistent rise in debt stock is attributed to new borrowings by the Federal Government and the depreciation of the naira, which inflated the local currency value of external loans.

This surge comes against a backdrop of persistent fiscal pressures and continued reliance on both domestic and foreign borrowing to fund public expenditure.
