It's due to 2 main reasons. 1. Lack of jobs and bad state of the economy. 2. The need to escape from marital problems. When young ladies keep seeing so much bad news about marriage, why would they want to marry? Moreso to a husband who may not even be wealthy, so they prefer to just have children and live as single mothers. |

Religious clerics should be included in the blame. The rate by which they deliberately bully, discriminate, segregate and shame the singles in their congregation for not getting married as if they married in their 20’s is something else. |

2mch:You are so wrong. Women in polygamous marriages actually wedded to their husbands and all wives know each other. Sometimes, they live under the same roof or in the same compound. Baby mamas are kept hidden, not known to the real wife and live far away from the real family. But people like you will know the difference when a sugar daddy later abandon his baby mama and stop looking after her and stop providing her needs |

GOD'S VERDICT ON "BABY MAMAS"&"SUGAR DADDIES" Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. {Hebrews 13:4} The immoral acts of "baby-mamaism" and "sugar-daddyism" as commonly practiced by the carnally minded whose souls have been deadened by FLESHLY LUSTS will be met with unavoidable JUDGMENT OF GOD, unless they repent and get saved by the Previous Blood of Jesus Christ: In whom we have redemption through HIS BLOOD, even the forgiveness of sins. {Colossians 1:14} JESUS CHRIST loves you ❤️ |

ARISHEM:Yes. And also the fact they teach the false doctrine of forbiding polygamy, there will always be the problem of baby mama. Simply put: The number of women ready for marriage a given society and at a given time, always far exceed the number of men ready for marriage. If the false doctrine of the prohibition of polygyny in christian churches is not stoped, you will keep seeing the baby mama phenomenon in the society. @Righteousness2 @SirTeee15 @Dtruthspeaker @MaxInDaHouse @StillDTruth |

maasoap:90% of polygamous men cannot afford those wives. The women work harder than babymama to provide for those kids. Being a husband is not only about paying bride price. A lot of these touts on the road are children from polygamous home who did not have opportunity and the father did not have time. Some don’t even know who and who are their children. We see it everyday. |

When they are done damaging themselves with their father's agemate, they'll start hunting for innocent young men to manipulate into marriage. We have many of them here in Nairaland parading themselves as famine -ist |

All the so-called indices you mentioned all exists in the western world yet single motherhood and baby mamas is pervasive. Take at look at London for example, many young white and black female all over the street of London with baby buggies. How about United States where all lot of our black sistahs are overcome by this trend. The point is all the indices in your last paragraph cannot provide answers to this menace. QuinModah: |

Tuface generated multiple babymamas and some of you applauded him when he moved on to the 4th woman. Same with Davido. Why do you guys only condemn it from the angle of a woman? It takes two to tango and if you continue to make marriage look unattractive in the longrun, people would opt for other arrangements. |

2mch:You confirmed it once more that the antagonism against polygamy comes from nothing but lies and distortion of the truth. First of all, how did you cone about your figure that 90% of men who've got a polygamous home cannot take care of their homes? And juat because a thing is bad for a particular period for a man does not mean things have always been that way or will always be the same. Plus, monogamy seem to have that reality as well. So, why condemn polygamy for what, in the first place, is not true and then don't do the same for monogamy As for the ''alot of touts are from polygamy'', well, that could not have been more funny and further from the truth. In the East and South-South where christianity is more prevalent (although, polygamy is as christian as holy communion and baptism are christian), there are thousands and milkions of touts. ARE THEY FROM POLYGAMOUS HOMES TOO? All the drug dealers and kidnappers in the east are from polygamous homes too? It is so easy to debunk all the false teaching against polygamy. Try to bring up better arguements againt polygamy. @Righteousness2 @SirTee15 @MaxInDHouse @StillDTruth @DTruthSpeaker |
| Re: The Rise Of Baby Mamas & Sugar Daddies In Lagos — A Silent Epidemic by 2mch(m): 10:53am On Aug 25, 2025 |
MiddleDimension:Go and do your research. Nobody need help and work harder than 90% of women in polygamous marriage. I know how much I have helped and how many have to keep boyfriend to take care of their kids. Yes, most of the touts and criminals are from polygamous home. Just go to the prison and ask. It’s not every child you can bring up in such environment and they will succeed. Raising kids require a lot of monitoring which don’t exist in polygamous home. You actually have to be present as a parent to raise good children. It is not the duty of one parent alone. Father and mother have different roles in a child’s life. Again, I stand on it that 90% of polygamous wives are single mother. Even one prominent politicians who is known for many wives, I know the shege his wives are seeing raising children he hardly even know. Leave story. |

QuinModah:You made strong points. As women now earn their own money and can control how many children and when they want children and due to societal evolution, they can determine whether they want it alongside a man or independently. We would begin to see a rise in women deliberately having children without a fatherly presence in the defined concept of a husband. Funny enough, young Nigerian men have promoted baby-mamaism on the Internet. So the women are simply suit. |

NNtv:/ Empty drums make the loudest noise. Those empty drums that return from USA carry with them all the despicable things about American culture into Nigeria and "loud am". Your average Nigerian from the South has innate desire to be an American in mannerism. From homosexuality, partners' swinging, tattoos, BBL, braiding, sagging and to babymama syndrome; the future is bleak. Worse still, guns have gradually entered the street. What's the solution? Nothing! Nigerian South will self-implode like the black American communities. Don't ever blame Gen-Z. Their mothers were the materialistic, covetous and promiscuous Blackberry babes. An antelope must birth an antelope. / |

2mch:Hot air! Hot air!! Hot air!!! You making a claim is the one to provide evidence for your claim, not me or anyone else. The women you know... and since when is your subjective opinion, if it is actually true, become a good reference in this diacussion? I should go to prison as if you have ever been there? I don't need to go to prisons to know that what you are saying is false; I only need to check the countries around the world, especially those ones that do not allow polygamy to see that your idea that polygamy raises social deviants is false! The US is one country ruled by the falsehood propagated by church leaders that polygamy is bad and so, it is not legal in that country. Yet, almost 100% of the inmates CAME FROM MONOGAMOUS HOMES! If you are refering to baby mamarism in the black community as the root cause of the high number of inmates they have, well you just said it: baby mamarism. Baby mamarism IS NOT POLYGAMY. By definition, polyagamy (polygyny) is the type of MARRIAGE in which one man is married to more than one wife. Apart from Black American Muslims, who by the way are the EXTREEM minority in that community, Black Americans are mostly christians and through the deception of the church leaders, mainly have monogamous homes. Yet, they are almost synonymous with crime violence and going to prison. Lets leave the US and go to other countries where polygamy is disallowed. Brazil, Argentina, the whole of South America, the Carribean, Europe including Russia, Japan, the two Koreas, China, Vietnam, the Philipines, Australia and New Zeeland... In all these countries, are majority of the inmates also from polygamous homes too, if polygamy causes deviance? If your hypothesis is true, then why is the US the country with the highest number of inmates in this world? Why does Russia have the second highest? And China too? You know what a former Soviet Propaganda executive once said? Any propaganda not based on truth, is bad propaganda. This means if you want to paint a thing black using propaganda, you should base it on what is true about what you want to paint black; other wise, your propaganda would be so ridoculous because it can easily be seen as false! So, again, try to bring up a better arguement. @Righteousness2 @SirTee15 @MaxInDHouse @StillDTruth @DTruthSpeaker |

2mch:That's the problem: ''enter street...'' The ''enter street'' you said, does not connote something thorough, detailed or fair. It connotes something rough, subjective and ill-informed. Any conclusion arrived at with this method of yours ''enter street'', will obviously be flawed. No wonder it was easy for me to pull them apart. |
