The appointment takes two years from what I have deduced so far which means I will expect them end of next year all things being equal. It’s just 3 weeks since NVC told me my case has been transferred so I am still waiting for IL.

I do not think it is a straightforward thing to file for I-824. I will have to get the green card first and then file for them to come as F2b(the waiting time there is also crazy) I think or I wait to become citizen after 5/6 years and file for immediate family.

If you file i824 (after you receive your green card);for your family they would be 'follow to join' which is NOT F2B. So their processsing would not follow f2b timelines. With i824 your family would ingerit your priority date.

Can someone guide how to even start this process and what to look out for. I see alpt of ads on social media but they ask for so much money to even speak with you.

Quick background: Master's in Engineering, 4 years experience as a software engineer across multiple roles in fintech and healthtech, built a solo early-stage startup product in fintech/AI, and ran a 30-day state-sponsored tech teaching program in an underserved region that impacted nearly 100 people through workshops and group projects.
Can someone advise if this fits EB-2 (maybe NIW) or another category?
