This is a misconception that some of you have, maybe due to self-esteem issues. There is absolutely no guarantee that if you marry down, you would get a submissive woman. I didn't marry down, and I can tell you that my wife defer to me more than some "broke" ladies I dated before marriage.

It is very, very slim except the lady is the one initiating it. However, most wealthy parents won't accept the marriage. That's the ugly truth. They prefer the sons/daughter getting married to their fellow wealthy family.

Nothing brings both sides together. It's almost impossible. Different schools, hospitals, churches even your social media algorithm are different.

Pay attention to how your girlfriend and her family members treat people that are lesser than them economically.
Check how they treat their househelp, drivers and domestic staff.
Check if they are sending their own children to private school and their househelp to Ansarudeen grammar school.
Pay attention to things like these.

Many worthy rich men don't care about money. They care about virtue. Chance are they have seen all kinds of human. High serving, under serving, Greedy desperate no integrity.....all kinds. The rare kind is what they keep a keen eye for. Humble hard working and steadfast. If you bring one home. In a blink interview they may read him correct. Rich people are advance human psychologist. They can easily tell if you faking it. Like I said they have seen all kinds of humans. If you the real deal they can easily show you the rope. The rest is on you if you can make the climb.

I wouldn't advise any young man to marry from such homes. It'd always be robbed in your face.

I came from a humble (not really poor) background. I studied at two federal universities in Nigeria, even worked in Nigeria for some time. My big leap came after I got a funding to do a Ph.D. in the US. From that moment, my social standing improved. I got married to a lady from a "rich" background, with double Ivy-league degrees, who is also a professional.

This would never had happened if I was comfortable with my previous state in Nigeria. My story is not unique. I have seen many similar stories to mine.

By the way, I have never made marrying into a rich family a priority of mine. I would not advise anyone to do so. Just focus on upgrading yourself.

I'm moderately rich. At least I've built my own house in Portharcourt. My daughter is studying computer science. During the holidays, I enrolled her at a new ICT center to learn python. It cost N50k monthly. Ever since she has started, rich boys have been around d her. They visit her at home and they even go out together. She's in her finals now and her boyfriend whom she met at the ICT center has gone to Canada for holidays. They are always in communication.

They learn quickly from dating that women from wealthy families are different in many ways. The few who were able to trick their way into wealthy families live in regret. A person from a comfortable family has different needs from one who’s satisfied with the basics being provided.

Your status played a role. Being rich is not just in monetary aspect. Most professionals like doctors, nurses, lawyers, lecturers etc are not rich. But their professions give them prestige and a kind of aura. That alone is a selling point to attract people of calibre

Bros, it's fvcking impossible. It's like a camel passing through the eye of a needle.

If I ever have a daughter who fall in love with a "poor guy", I'll not allow her to marry him. The thing is the word "poor" has a lot of different meaning though especially in Nigeria. To me, my definition of poor is someone with a quack and low mentality, clueless, no prospect, pessimistic, no dreams, idea-bankrupt, no proposal, pitch or concept. I doubt if my daughter will associate with that kind of person with her home training wey I go give her. But if she bring someone who has an abundance mindset, rich mentality, with a lot of prospect and blueprint, someone who has a pitch, or proposal waiting for the right investors, someone who is trying to get on his feet, etc. As a wealthy father wey I be, I will ask the guy just three major questions among others below:

1. Who are you?

2. Where do you see yourself in the next five years and if he answers, I ask him what's doing to achieve that?

3. Then I'll ask the next question, "what are your plans with my daughter?" (The koko)

I'll ask others as well to check his intellectual, social, emotional, adversity quotient. I'll even get him slightly angry to check his countenance sef. I'll place him under a watch for like 3 to 4 months, even hiring private investigator to gather information about him, dig his pasts for me. If he pass, I'll loan him some money to fulfill his dream. But if he fail, over my dead body.
