The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson.

That Book will help most of you.

If you haven't started living your life strictly on your own terms, you really are not living.

...

As long as you ain't contributing anything toward my progress,I'm not taking what ever pressure you are mounting on me,if my condition dey pain you then give me money..

One thing I love about my family is they won't pressure you no matter what.

If all my age mates like let them buy private jets you will never hear my parent comparing me with them..

Thou normally I use to feel somehow when I see people I started before doing better, but i dont take it to the heart,I believe everyone have his own destiny..

No be lie..

It takes a lot of self encouragement for someone who's in china's shoes to overcome pressure.

But then again, most times now,I thank God for not falling for such things when the pressure really got into me as at 3-4 years ago.... I even had to cut ties with some of my friends whose pressure and influence could have made me to go astray........

I remembered when I first started driving my first Keke,a good friend of mine from way back in poly boarded my keke then....The dude was kinda mocking me cuz he was doing Yahoo and was one of the big boys in town as at then.. but I didn't mind him.....
Glad that you never allowed it get to you.as i dey like this,no body can prepare me,i nor send anybody.if e better for you,i go always congratulate you, but say make i envy person,it can never be me.

Chuka, listen.
You’re not a failure. You’re not behind. You’re just living your own journey. The problem is, you started comparing your chapter one to other people’s chapter ten. And because of that, you let society’s noise push you into a life that doesn’t give you peace.

That Benz, the applause, the fake “respect” — they’re not real. What’s real is your peace of mind, your freedom, your dignity. And right now, you’re trading all of that just to prove a point to people who don’t even think about you after they scroll past your post.

You need to ask yourself: what do I truly want? Not what Instagram wants, not what family or girlfriend wants — what do you want?

If it’s stability, freedom, and a good life, then start building it in a way that lets you sleep at night. Go back to your hustle with fresh eyes, learn new skills, expand your business, or find legit opportunities that may take longer but will last longer.

There’s no shame in starting small, but there’s deep shame in losing yourself trying to look big. Real success is silent, steady, and peaceful.

So my advice: drop the pressure, pick back your life, and build in a way that when you smile, it’s not for the camera — it’s from your heart.
LegendaryGrafix:
There’s one guy I know, let’s call him Chuka. Chuka was a normal hustler in Kaduna. He had a small shop where he sold phone accessories. Every month, he made just enough to pay rent and manage life. But anytime he scrolled Instagram or even WhatsApp, he would see his mates posting pictures with new cars, popping drinks at clubs, traveling to Dubai.

At first, he ignored it. But with time, the pressure started eating him. His family would call and say, “Your mates are doing well, when will you also make us proud?” Even his girlfriend started dropping subtle hints: “Baby, don’t you think it’s time you upgrade? At least get a car, people will respect you more.”

Chuka began to feel like he was failing in life. He wasn’t lazy, he wasn’t useless, but because he wasn’t living up to society’s standard, he carried shame everywhere he went. One day, out of frustration, he joined some friends who were into Yahoo. He told himself it was temporary, that once he made it small, he would leave.

Within months, Chuka was driving a Mercedes Benz. His parents praised him, his girlfriend became proud again, even his neighbors started calling him “boss.” On the outside, he looked like he had arrived. But on the inside, he was drowning. The fear of EFCC, the lies, the sleepless nights, the emptiness, it was killing him slowly.

One evening, while sitting alone in his car, he confessed: “This Benz no dey sweet me. I thought once I got it, my life would change. But now I realize I only did it for other people. I don’t even recognize myself anymore.”

And that’s the painful truth: many Nigerians are living like Chuka. We let societal pressure push us into things we don’t want, into debts we can’t repay, into lifestyles we can’t sustain. We kill ourselves trying to prove a point to people who don’t even care.

This is a raw reminder that until you stop living for people and start living for yourself, nothing will ever feel enough.

Because the truth is, peace of mind will take you farther than any Benz.
The easiest way to be miserable?

- Compare yourself to people who’ve been in the game longer.
- Expect overnight results in a process that takes years.
- Wait for ‘motivation’ instead of setting up a system.

Your problem isn’t effort. It’s patience.

When Buhari took over in 2015, we thought he would encourage integrity and anti-corruption. But reverse was the case.

In Abuja now, nobody can survive without corruption. And when your mates are doing better than you in Abuja, it usually means that they are just more corrupt than you.

So hard work now also means being corrupt.
