Your 2km daily trekking is actually a blessing, not a curse. It’s unlikely to damage your health—in fact, it’s setting up a strong foundation for old age. The only risk is bad footwear or posture, not the trekking itself.

Due to the facts it's my huzling period, and every one naira matters alot..I am in mid 30's

I am frugal with my resources and it makes me trek alot.. infact I cover 2km in trekking daily...

Not typically going on long journeys, but my combined daily short short trek is about 2k..

Should I be worried for my old age..?

Nothing to be worried about! Some people walk longer than that daily as exercise.

I think you wrong. When trekking is done properly within the limits, it’s the best exercise one can give to the body

I’ve been driving since 2011 but I still make out time for daily walks and indoor exercises. I’ve been doing this for 15years so I know how good it is to the body
Ur daily walks is out of leisure not out of necessity. Understand the difference bro. I bet u don't take ur nice leisurely walks under the hot sun do you?

Trekking is the best exercise that a person can do. It will help prevent arthritis and also keep you fit.
Elderly people are even advised to keep walking.

That's the best form of exercise in the world.
This summer, I dished the car. Trek to work and back. Even with one nasty nerve injury. 1 to 4 death is caused by inactivity. Most of my colleagues that live close to work dont drive except during the bad weather.

You are doing well. You will understand better when you get older.

Rather, it will make you stronger in your old age. Also younger!

Your mates who did not trek will not compete with you in the future as far as agility is concerned. I know people who have told me their experiences. In fact, I saw a woman in her 70s recently who I thought could be in her 50s. She said the secret was her trekking, back in the days.

Walking is out of necessity. You walk because healthwise, you need it.

You are not making any sense at all.

And yes, you can walk under the sun.

When I was in Nigeria,Abuja to be precise, the sun starts early and goes down evening time. And the sun is harsh. The only time I get to walk was when the sun is out. So I use my big hat, wear long shirt and sunglasses and off I go. I walk for 2 hours daily unless I'm engaged that time or raining. Brisk walking. By the time I get home, I will be drenched.
Do that, its good for you. You do not need the gym.

Bahamas95:
On the contrary you're preparing yourself for a healthy old age, trekking is a form of exercise.

As for me I don't trek much, if I don't drive I ride my bicycle...... Cycling is my major exercise, I usually do that on saturdays.

Go to the villages and see grandparents trekking at very old age. They still farm.
Our mindset these days are something else.

In modern hospitals now in some countries, there is the walking unit where patients are put on routine walk and then monitored. HBP, diabetes, mental health issues have drastic improvement when patients engage in walking.

Simple exercise like slow running or walking improves brain health.
There is a reason people have dogs a lot here.its not mainly for companionship but because they have to walk the dogs everyday, they end up exercising without thinking about it.

Trekking is stress if you over-do it na. But if done moderately then its fine.
Neddyogu:
Trekking is stress not exercise. A thin fine line divides the two. Try checking ur BP from time to time. Spare a little change and make ur life a bit easy. Uwa wu ofu mbia!

Download stepup app to monitor your self.

Don't take more than 10,000 Steps a day.

Remember...stress kills

If from the write up u couldn't tell that the author wasn't talking about taking walks for health purposes but is forced to walk because he's trying to spend less, if u didn't get that the author is concerned more for his pockets than his longevity, then u're not half as smart as u imagine urself to be.
U take ur walks prepared but not so for a guy who's outta options. Wanting to walk and having to trek are two different scenarios even though they both involve putting one foot in front of the other. You will understand if you've had to live hard. I have met kids that are in their early to mid 30s looking like 50 year olds due to stress and hard living. Taking walks is not bad in itself but u gotta identify when such an activity becomes stress.

Actually, your old age will thank you for it. Make it a life style and as you cross your fifties your knees and joints are probably gonna be a product of how fit you are.

Trekking is actually very good for you and helps greatly as you age.

In fact, 2km per day is ridiculously small. What's globally accepted is 10,000 steps per day, which is usually a little above 7km.

Personally, I do a lot more than 7km per day. In fact, before 8am in the morning, I've done more than that

He says he treks every day to save cost that's why I said he should he take it easy by sparing some change to make his life a bit easy cos we only live once.

2 km is small now. I use to trek 8km some days. 2 km is my minimum and 4km is like average to me and I'm very fit if you see me
I do this because my job requires 8 hours of sitting in a day.
You mind the man?
2kms is a stroll around the house

It's very good for your health. If I had the luxury of doing that when I was younger, my health would have been excellent now

2 KM is little. You can walk more … even 6/7 KM. Just wear a hat to protect from heatstroke. Great cardio.
