I'm sorry to say this but I'm ashamed to come from Anambra state. Soludo has has constantly degraded and deameaned our state since he was fortunate to become the governor of Anambra state. What a man! |

The Anambra State Government’s decision to take its Open Contracting Data Standard (OCDS) portal offline for “maintenance” — just days after serious procurement irregularities were reported — raises legitimate public concern, and deserves open, constructive scrutiny rather than silence. While maintenance is a routine part of managing any digital platform, the timing here is particularly sensitive. Transparency is the bedrock of public trust, especially in the handling of public funds. The OCDS portal was the one digital window into how contracts were being awarded and to whom. Its sudden unavailability, particularly when all other e-procurement services remain operational, appears less like routine upkeep and more like damage control — a perception the government should actively work to dispel. The revelations involving newly registered or inactive companies — particularly Calyzid Ventures, which secured nearly ₦386.3 million in contracts within a few weeks of incorporation — are not minor oversights. These are red flags that point to either deep administrative lapses or potential abuse of process. The fact that one contract was awarded despite a 20-month delay between bidding and approval only fuels questions about due diligence, oversight, and fairness. Citizens deserve answers, not just error messages or vague references to backend work. Shutting down access to contracting data and disabling public feedback channels, even temporarily, contradicts both the spirit and the standard of the Open Contracting Data Standard initiative. It also undermines Nigeria’s broader commitments to transparency, particularly through institutions like NITDA, which mandate uninterrupted access to government digital services. That said, the solution isn’t finger-pointing but accountability. The Anambra government can still lead by example. Restoring the OCDS portal swiftly, publishing a transparent explanation for the downtime, and committing to an independent audit of the contracts in question would be strong steps in the right direction. After all, transparency isn’t just about uploading data — it’s about being visibly willing to answer tough questions when that data reveals hard truths |

This is the same man some people from a certain region are supporting to fight Peter Obi and the Igbos, the thing about them is once you are against Peter Obi or the Igbos, even if you are an Igbo man they will support you as long as you sustain the fight . |

There is massive corruption and substandard leadership going on in that Anambra, and the governor is cheekily engaging in verbal and media assaults on the former governor Peter Obi just to deflect public attention from his failings. |

As it is in contract awarding that how it is on the job market in Nigeria. Some who had graduated with good grade and fit for job is being ignored while someone who has not graduated has many jobs already waiting for him through connection. This is one of the reasons standard and competence are being compromised. |

ACRI:No, the claim that Peter Obi was "caught red handed" ferrying ₦250 million to an Apapa warehouse during his tenure as governor of Anambra State (2006–2014) is a misrepresentation of events from May 2009. While there was an incident involving his aides transporting approximately ₦250 million in cash to his private company in Apapa, Lagos, Obi was not personally present or "caught" at the scene, and the matter was officially explained as legitimate funds for vehicle purchases on behalf of local governments. It was resolved without charges against Obi or his administration, and no evidence of wrongdoing was substantiated in subsequent investigations or court proceedings. |

| Re: After FIJ Story On Contract Irregularities, Anambra Closes Procurement Portal by bentenny(m): 11:49pm On Aug 29, 2025 |
hakeemhakeem:But the owner of the product that they wanted to purchase requested for cash and the LGA chairmen agreed! The question is was the reason behind the said cash which was used for the purchase of security vehicles for the LGAs fulfilled? The answer is Yes! Secondly, why haven't anyone including the FG taken Obi who happens to be from the opposition to court esp the EFCC for money laundering or any crime associated with government funds? Mind you,Obi is no longer a governor hence there is no immunity protecting him! Do you think if Obi had even a hint of corruption that Tinubu will hesitate to bundle him into jail until after 2031? Obi has zero stain of corruption and those making the noise about him being corrupt have no evidence to show except for unsubstantiated allegations from media platforms that are mostly sponsored by his political opponents! |
