Which one of these states takes the crown for the most peaceful state in Nigeria

Akwa-Ibom and Cross River are like siamese twins, shared boundary, close neighbors with cultural and tribal affinity. In the same vein, when it comes to being peaceful and boasting of the safest living environment, these two states are almost inseparable. Hardly do they make the news for terrorism, militancy, cultism, ritualism, baby factory, internet fraud, religious and tribal extremism, inter tribal clashes, land disputes, etc.

Akwa Ibom from my experience as a serving NYSC member That served in Calabar. Though it depends on the location.

A very close call, I have had the opportunity of spending some time in both states and it's so beautiful. Beautiful foods and beautiful women too. As a man, there's nothing appealing than a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful women. However, since I can't separate them, I will slightly pick Akwa-Ibom as the most peaceful state because they don't terrorise 404, in Akwa-Ibom, ekuke dey get peace of mind unlike in Cross River.

Honestly, I've been finding it so difficult to differentiate between Akwa Ibom and calabar......... I'd really love to travel to those states to explore more about them.........

Calabar is the capital of cross river state...

So a better comparison would be akwaibom and cross rivers or uyo and Calabar.

I have never been to both states but from what I hear Cross rivers is more peaceful and a tourist destination.

Very close call. But I'd choose Calabar over Uyo because it has a lower cost of living. But both cities are just something else. Clean, very good roads. Serene and chill. So many young fine and nubile babes (tertiary institutions na water), and enough hospitality/fun spots without too much madness or violence.

If you have 2 billion in slush funds and want to retire to a life of peaceful debauchery in Nigeria, where everyday is a holiday, then there's no better place than Calabar or Uyo.

Very underrated places. No be that rubbish, overpriced, overrated Lagos way those people no go take let us hear word.

It is true sha, I can't remember reading any negative news about them for a long time.

I think Akwa Ibom..there are so many beautiful places in the state and the indigenes have not been controversial or having security issue

Person enter night bus come there come eventually buy your grand papa family house, pursue you and your 49 step siblings and 5 step mums, excavate your papa corpse from the backyard throway, and then build better structure for there. After lavishing the small money wey reach your hand on owambe, you go start to dey rant 'go back to your village' online. Is the joke not on you?

Crossriver is acres of marshy bushes and swamp, most local government there have nepa wires but in a month can get atmost 3hours of light. if you are not in the capital being calabar then you are going to get a long frustrating suprise. Don't let this media hypers fuul you cos most of them just browse online pictures and start drooling in fantasy. Akwaibom is preferable because atleast even if you are not staying in uyo, some local government area are habitable with basic amenities.

When it comes to beauty cleanliness... Give it to AK.

Recently visit a general hospital in Akwa Ibom, took this picture and funny enough this is not even the capital.

Ahhh, No just go there oooo. Where all the natural resources are minnned like gold. No oooo

E go hard to pick between Akwa Ibom and Cross River o — the two na “twins of tranquility” for real! 🕊️

But if person must crown one, based on recent years of calm, low crime rates, and almost non-existent headlines for violence or criminal wahala...

🏆 Akwa Ibom slightly carry the peace crown.

Why?

The state has consistently ranked among the safest in Nigeria in independent security indexes and media reports.

Uyo, the capital, is known for its clean, calm environment — e dey almost give “abroad vibes” for people wey go there.

Infrastructure don improve, and government dey do street lighting and urban security well.

Less cult clashes and land disputes compared to Cross River (especially around Calabar axis in recent years).


But truth be say: Cross River still dey very peaceful — especially places like Obudu and Ikom. Na just small edge Akwa Ibom get.

So final answer?

Akwa Ibom wears the peace crown 👑
But Cross River dey beside am like loyal deputy. 🤝

Na this kain rivalry we like — peace contest, not wahala Olympics. 😎

Both states are quite peaceful.
But Akwa Ibom are more hostile to themselves and even visitors.......I've heard most of them reject marrying from their place.
Give it to Cross River....the land of Paradise

Both are sweet places. Two nice places in the South South that made good use of their oil money especially Akwa Ibom.

Unlike yeye Delta and Bayelsa states

Haba cultism na cross river. Bekawrra and boki or ogoja fight na wetin. Not such of the spelling. seems you don't know the history of cross river.. diamond Hill, hope u heard about the place above. Igoli and Apbapa fight. So many. Yala and those fights are what cos they don't make it to the news does not mean it's not happening. Calabar is a nice place thou and I miss it badly. Days of unical cultism

Both are peaceful, but I can assure you that I can move from uyo to Etinan in Akwa ibom State even at midnight without fear

The successive useless governments wants only Lagos to benefit from sea economy that's why they keep building new ports there and stifling other ports from functioning.


For me, Uyo in Akwaibom does it though my heart lies in Calabar, Cross River, a lovely, serene and hospitable place.

The two states are known for food and sex.

In Delta state almost every local government is habitable. There is nothing you will find in Asaba that you won't see in WARRI UGHELLI SAPELE OGHARA. AGBOR OZORO OLEH KWALE UBIAROKO UDU ABRAKA the list go on. U can't say the same to any other state in Nigeria aside lagos

I'm proudly to see my lovely state with a better news like this! Akwa ibom deserve the crown , we love ourselves that's why it's safest to live and low crime rate, we obey our chiefs , we listen to one voice, and the elders listen to the masses. Tho we're brothers,we birthed from cross river. At least some people here will know the difference between cross river and calabar , calabar is the capital of cross river,stop calling Akwa ibom man a calabar man 😀

Some people hear Cross River and only think of Calabar.
Both are peaceful but engage in tribal wars in some regions from time to time.

Where I stay in Cross River we go out whenever and come back whenever with no fear.
