APC Condemns Attack On Malami’s Convoy In Kebbi by Editorialtimes(op): 10:42pm On Sep 01, 2025
By Abdullahi Tukur | Birnin Kebbi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has strongly condemned the violent attack on the convoy of former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.

The incident, which occurred in the state capital, left several vehicles damaged and multiple individuals injured, heightening political tensions in the region.

APC’s Reaction

Speaking to journalists, APC’s Public Relations Officer, Isa Abubakar As-Salafi, explained that the party first learned of the incident through social media reports. He assured that the party will carry out an internal investigation to identify those responsible for the attack.

“We live in peace, and we want peace to continue to be promoted by all political parties in the state,” As-Salafi said.

He further alleged that security personnel attached to Malami’s convoy fired shots during the confrontation, which worsened the situation.

Malami Responds

Reacting to the attack, Malami — who now leads the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi — stated that his visit to Birnin Kebbi was not political. He explained that he was in the city to pay condolences to families of prominent individuals who had passed away.

“It’s a painful act clearly linked to politics. Some thugs came out from the APC state headquarters armed with dangerous weapons and stones, attacking and destroying our convoy,” Malami alleged.

He emphasized that he remains resolute in the political space: “When it comes to politics in Kebbi State, there is no retreat, no surrender.”

Victims and Damages

Eyewitnesses reported that about ten vehicles in Malami’s convoy were smashed, while several people sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The Bureau News will continue to track developments surrounding the case as police investigate the attack. Readers can follow more updates in Nigeria News Today on our politics section.

Malami was part of the useless government that festered into this. So let him reap the fruits of buharis hard work.

One day the Northern youths will swallow their politicians because they are the ones bearing the brunt.

Exactly. Sanwo-olu was ostracised and cast aside because he wasn't hardline enough. That was why Obasa's impeachment was overturned. The result was the disenfranchisement of voters and violent bigotry witnessed in the council polls. We've seen tacit support for incitement from the likes of Okpebholo and Co. Tinubu clearly likes and supports the antics of thugs and "strongmen" like Wike. Expect other APC states to pick up on this. Someone is desperate but his fate in 2027 is inevitable.

No ruling governor will condone any threat to his seat.
It's politics, it's a dirty game.
When an intruder crosses your territory, won't you roar or bark?
If you are too gentle, they will bully you out of your seat.

Obedients and violence everywhere they go.

I urge the security agencies to fish out all Obedients involved in this dastardly act.

It's unfortunate that Peter obi is yet to react to this.

God bless APC for condemning the attack.

What is the difference with southern politicians?

Even Lagos, after 26 years of eb1lokan master plan of increasing IGR and budget 80 times, is there water supply in the state? What of your own state?

The Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services and Water Resources in Lagos State, Mahmood Adegbite, has said that people drilling borehole in the Lekki axis of the state is probably drinking ‘’shit water.”

While speaking at a stakeholders meeting in the state recently, Adegbite noted that contaminated boreholes in Lekki pose health risk and added that treatment of waste water would eradicate any form of disease that may arise from it.

He said, “On waste water treatment, I will say that everyone digging borehole within the Lekki axis is probably drinking what I will call ‘shit water.’

How will children learn from schools that are locked up due to teachers’ strike huh
