I think I’ve said what happened here. FIFA officials misreported Mokoena as eligible.

That’s why SA played him. SA played him under the assumption that he was eligible because FIFA didn’t mark him ineligible as they usually did.

I Dey talk am before say na 50:50 but una choose to believe the one una like. Person say na after final round. Like does that even make any sense?
Still doesn't change the rule. If that's the issue FIFA should apologize to SA.

Your comparison is on wrong premise.
The referee interprets and applies the rules you referred to on the field and his decision is final. Disciplinary issues (yellow and red card) are sometimes reviewed.

Disciplinary issues off the field as in this case is handled by FIFA and they apply the rules. If they decide to avoid it as in this case it's a totally different situation.

They may be attempt to sweep it under the carpet, hence the 'no-mention' of it in any of their report. However, takenote that RSA responded to FIFA on this issue and the outcome from FIFA is supposed to be public knowledge - for or against (at least communicated to RSA.
First of all, As at the last time RSA officials spoke on this issue they mentioned that FIFA was yet to demand any response from them. Note that Naija blogs have been reporting a lot of fake rubbish on this issue.

What I said earlier is simple. No player or team is ever punished for errors caused by incorrect officiating/administration. Finito. Doesn’t matter if it’s on or off the pitch. If FIFA had cleared the squad in official communication, as SA claims, then points would not be deducted.

Nobody will bend a law for you because you are ignorant of it, maybe except in Nigeria sha grin

Rule of football universally in FIFA competition, two yellow card, suspension, so nobody will bend the rules and penalties for South Africa, it will bring about people circumventing FIFA rules in the future if South Africa or any other team is not punished.

That’s why Nigeria was punished in 2018.
That we have poor judiciary and weak institutions doesn’t mean the world play by that rules, break the law and you will get it hard, especially when it comes to image of global institutions.

Bro, I just need two clarifications from you.

1. Where was it said that FIFA communicated to RSA that the player been discussed is eligible? A link or a legit source will be appreciated.

2. In reference to (1), are you saying Rohr/NFF deliberately played Shehu even after FIFA already communicated his ineligibility? Or let's assume that FIFA made a mistake by saying he was eligible when he is not, why then were we punished for the offence?

The way things are going can the Super eagles guarantee winning the remaining matches, even if FIFA deduct three points from South Africa, can we still qualify.
Let them complete the matches first if we are in the position to qualify after the deduction of the 3points from South Africa, then we can start talking about rules.

But in a case like this FIFA verdicts normally comes after the completion of the qualifying matches.
E.g Nigeria against Algeria the point was deducted after the qualify series.

I think a country qualified for this concluded CHAN tournament, but because they fielded an un qualify player, they where disqualify and the team that came second came to CHAN.
so the rules cannot be bend.

Galatasaray's Champions League Squad List submitted to UEFA!

Victor Osimhen leads the charge! 🦁
Na this squad wan compete for CL?
That team is way inferior with the last match I watched and switched off immediately VO was subbed.
The team is way below average and leaks proudly at the back led by Sanchez of all players.
I don't see them going far in CL maybe win the Turkish league again but nowhere in CL

1. Can’t trace the link now. Will try when I have time.

2. It has been discussed severally here what led to Shehu’s case. The guy it was communicated to didn’t pass it on.

Why are you trying to make excuses for FIFA and SA.?

The rule is written very clearly in black and white.

The rule never said anything about FIFA needing to notify the country before the rule can stand.

I didn't even see anywhere in FIFA articles about 24hrs complaints either.

FIFA needs to deduct that point and they need to do it now

Lol. Trying to bring fact and clarity is making excuses?

Anyways I never intended this to become a back and forth typing session. Everyone should believe whatever they like oh. Whatever FIFA decides to do, they will do. Putting this matter to rest on my end.

It's about equal application of the law. We were penalized for the same thing after 2018 qualifiers. We qualified with a game to spare so it didn't affect our qualification. FIFA should hold the same line this time around

They shouldn't have waited that long to deduct Nigeria's point after our last game against Algeria since they sent us a mail that shehu couldn't play and we played him , they could have instantly on the pitch or after the match annulled our points. Rather they waited till a fortnight before the world cup draws to announce our point deduction.
JohnBullMySon:
That’s not how FIFA rules are applied. For example FIFA rules are very clear on what constitutes a goal. But when the referee makes an error, does the goal get cancelled afterwards ? Even when it is technically not a goal. Today we have VAR to assist the referee but if he doesn’t change his mind, nothing will happen.

Usually, when an error has been determined to be from officiating, the result will stand regardless of what any rule states.
Then

Osimhen was the difference maker.

Not Eric Chelle's ingenuity.
