They’ve understand the facts that election is coming by 2027 and once that fuel levy commence in January 2026 it will jeopardize their chances of coming back to office because no reasonable Nigerian be it APC or PDP LP or even the Yoruba people who are trying to support their tribal person to be in power will accept this levy, this guy is just doing damage control for the moment have it in mind after 2027 elections boom! They will bring this levy, trust Nigerian politicians at your own risk ⚠️ 😂🤭

Ummm, during his campaign, your president did say he will reduce the purchasing power of the people and tax everything taxable. He is indeed fulfilling his campaign promises. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Man, you are really trying! Even Tinubu himself can't defend his harsh and impoverishing policies the way you do.

It’s obvious you can’t read and understand. The report already says there is no N500 fuel levy taking effect from 1st of January like i rightly said on the other thread where liars are insisting on the imposition of a fuel tax commencing 1st of January. So, what nonsense point are you trying to make? Can’t you read and understand?

Some fools will still vote them in come 2027. Well, make I see which INEC field person wey go wan rig the election. Bodi go tell am.

See how dey are giving lamba, they will be blaming past administration for making the law which was not used, but Tinubu is too courageous to tell us he want to add more pain because heaven will not fall.

Where is all money realised from subsidy removal?

I have written about this many times.

naptu2:
Yeah, I remember that. I expect that he'll put out an apology soon. But how did he make that mistake? I'll tell you.

1) I watched the event live, so I know what was said. I also follow the news, so I know the context.

President Buhari signed a new finance bill and it increased the VAT rate. Vice President Osinbajo said that the new VAT rate was still too low and that it was one of the lowest in Africa.

At his birthday colloquium, Chief Tinubu told Professor Osinbajo that they shouldn't increase the VAT rate. He said that, instead, they should widen the tax net.

This is an old and common debate in Nigeria. Nigeria is broke and poor, yet there are a lot of things that the government needs to do (we have an infrastructure and service deficit, so the government needs to spend a lot of money on things like roads, schools, hospitals, bridges and security). Where will the money come from? (A) Some people say that government should increase taxes, but (B) some people say that there are many people that are not paying taxes at all and the government should find a way to make them pay tax, rather than increasing the tax rate. They says that Nigerians already have a lot of problems and that government should not add to it by increasing the tax rate.

Chief Tinubu said that increasing the VAT rate would reduce the purchasing power of the people and he said that the government should widen the tax net (that is, get more people to pay tax), instead of increasing the VAT rate.

2) During the last silly season, Obidients doctored the video of this event and made it seem like Bola Tinubu said something else. They made it seem as if he said that government should increase the VAT rate in order to reduce the purchasing power of the people. I think I mentioned it here on this thread back then.

3) This trick of the Obidients has now caught Professor Farook Kperogi. He has shared the doctored version of the speech and I suspect that he will issue an apology soon. This is not the first time that he has been deceived by Obidients and it won't be the first time that he has apologised for his errors.

There's something else about this issue and that thing will be in my next post.
naptu2:
Didn't I tell you?

Farooq Kperogi: Tinubu Didn’t Say He Will Reduce People’s Purchasing Power

Now I want to make another prediction. Obidients will still deceive him in future.

You should even be banned for more than 30 minutes for what you’re doing on this thread. You and folks like you are all over the place trying to force a false narrative as true in violation of rule 8 despite the effort of people like me to correct you. If the moderators are strictly applying the rules, you should be on a minimum of three months ban for violating rule 8 instead of having the confidence to be tagging the moderators to ban me.

Once this government is re elected in 2027 the taxmen will be fully unleashed to scour the country for every dime for parting gifts and political pensions. It will be revenue drive galore.
