Don't mind them. The way we started is same way Algeria started that 2014 qualifier - with a home draw. Before they knew it, it was over. It's over for Nigeria. The pressure alone is enough to make them fall like pack of cards in the remaining games.

Take a look at the table with 3 full games to go. Gabon is likely going to finish second from their group and they already have 18 points! That is with 3 games left to play. Look at Cameroon's group. Cameroon, at second, already has 15 points with three games to play.

No second place team from Nigeria's group will get to the World Cup. Take that to the bank. It isnt happening. Moreover, let me add -- there will be multiple second placed teams that will finish no less than the 19 points that Nigeria cannot overcome even if Nigeria wins the group. The only route is to win the group and win by huge margins. South Africa already understands this and their agenda is to run up scores making South Africa v Nigeria + forfeiture forced by FIFA irrelevant. Our only path is to run up scores BIG!!

What this means is that Nigeria must win her remaining games with nothing less than 3 goals, starting from tomorrow...if it means packing the bus and scoring those goals on the counter with 25% possession, so be it.

Thank you for this. What scares me most is that I highly doubt the NFF is communicating the same urgency indicated in this post to the players. We truly bleeped up.

The reasons are simple and they are 2 reasons.
1. Our players are not just good enough, we the fans are guilty of overhyping them e.g (Chukwueze, Simon, Ekong, Ndidi, Osayi).
2. Some that are good doesn't give their all and shows much commitments when playing for the national team (e.g Iwobi)

To me, only Osimhen, Lookman, Aina and Bassey (Nwabali is also cool) can break into any national team.

That's why during SE matches, you will see some of these so called professionals making school boys errors, errors that were supposedly avoidable even without a coach.

The super eagles will not qualify for the 2026 WC. There's no magic that can guarantee otherwise.

There's no guarantee that we'll win all our matches and even if we do, there's no guarantee of a slip-up by our opponents.

I told him they will first consider other greater points.. he said No he is 100% sure abt that rule that once Nigeria Tie points with SA on top table they will make it to play offs. That they will be considerd first before others.. except there is same scenario in other groups

Probability is low but can happen

For this to happen:

1. Nigeria must win all 4 remaining games. Any slip-up and this theory will not hold.
2. It does not look like FIFA will deduct points from South Africa, so we must be 2nd on the table with a max of 19 points.
3. Eritrea pulled out of the World Cup qualifiers, meaning there is a group with 5 teams.
4. Nigeria will be in the conversation for 2nd place if we beat Rwanda and SA.
5. In determining the top 4 second-placed teams fairly, points recorded against the last teams in the group may be cancelled due to the imbalance caused by the 5-team group.
6. Zimbabwe must sit in last place in our group so that the points deducted from Nigeria are only 2 compared with most second-place teams that would have recorded 3, 4, or 6 points against their last-place group opponents.
7. Coupled with hopefully an imperfect campaign from the 2nd place teams in the remaining matches, SE could have a chance to finish among the top 4 second-placed teams for the playoffs.

But again, Nigeria must win all remaining and have a perfect record going forward for the points above to materialize.

jpes not using that his afcon formation earlier enough is the reason we are in this mess. That formation was very compact that we were creating high volume chances and defending well that the only reason we lost that final was because the players were playing through injury in that match. We cant cry over spoilt milk now (we can, we just shouldnt). Just hope we do better during the 2030 qualifiers.

We are out due to arrogance and lack of stability.
