So, some of you are still hopeful of qualifying for the world cup? With a coach that can't even win Zanzibar and a stinkingly corrupt NFF that's only interest in personal gains. |

etebefia:Don't mind them. The way we started is same way Algeria started that 2014 qualifier - with a home draw. Before they knew it, it was over. It's over for Nigeria. The pressure alone is enough to make them fall like pack of cards in the remaining games. |

Sugarboyy:The bolded is not true, even if it is, let's be honest, the South African team that are leading the charts do they have better players, I am not saying that we have better players because of the league our players feature in, I am making my emphasis on player to player comparison. The South African teams is well managed and better coached. The problem is not in the players, believe me. |

I dont know why this moderator is deleting my comments for calling out the sort of attitude that got us here which are tribalism/ethnic hate, nepotism, electing criminals like drug dealers and election riggers into power. You cant allow these negative commodities to dictate your decisions then expect success....you are fooling yourself. Nigeria is paying for their lack of sense. |

MKPUOGALIGA:If NFF president a drug dealer? If no, then who are the Nigeria football leaders you are referring to as drug dealers? Again you talk of nepotism, I stand to be corrected, in this current SE, a section of the country which I feel you are from have the highest number of Players. Finally, do we have a Messi or Ronaldo and the NFF stop the SE coaches from inviting such players? Lastly, I think you need to carry your emotions and get out of this thread. Na NFF or the coaches or these leaders that has nothing to do with our football say make Ekong they look opponent go score? Or Na them say make our players they miss empty net 🥅 in those matches that we drew? @MKPUOGALIGA |

Meliforme:That's why I mentioned the second option. Some of our better players don't give their all when playing for the SE and it's part of the reason we are where we are now. As good as Iwobi in Fulham and the premier league, what has he contributed to the SE in this qualifiers so far? What about Simon, Chukwueze, Ekong, Ndidi, Aribo at some point, Boniface, Awoniyi, and their likes... What has been their contributions? Duraissay scored twice today, Salah scored, Marmouise scored, Bakambu scored, these players always does well playing for their NT, can same be said of the SE players, aside Osimhen, Lookman, Bassey and Aina? |

The goal Nigeria conceded in the 90th min vs. Zimbabwe could be the reason Nigeria qualifies for the World Cup. Only someone with a deep mind will understand this |

The super eagles will not qualify for the 2026 WC. There's no magic that can guarantee otherwise. There's no guarantee that we'll win all our matches and even if we do, there's no guarantee of a slip-up by our opponents. |

Odunayaw:Probability is low but can happen For this to happen: 1. Nigeria must win all 4 remaining games. Any slip-up and this theory will not hold. 2. It does not look like FIFA will deduct points from South Africa, so we must be 2nd on the table with a max of 19 points. 3. Eritrea pulled out of the World Cup qualifiers, meaning there is a group with 5 teams. 4. Nigeria will be in the conversation for 2nd place if we beat Rwanda and SA. 5. In determining the top 4 second-placed teams fairly, points recorded against the last teams in the group may be cancelled due to the imbalance caused by the 5-team group. 6. Zimbabwe must sit in last place in our group so that the points deducted from Nigeria are only 2 compared with most second-place teams that would have recorded 3, 4, or 6 points against their last-place group opponents. 7. Coupled with hopefully an imperfect campaign from the 2nd place teams in the remaining matches, SE could have a chance to finish among the top 4 second-placed teams for the playoffs. But again, Nigeria must win all remaining and have a perfect record going forward for the points above to materialize. |

minfelix:jpes not using that his afcon formation earlier enough is the reason we are in this mess. That formation was very compact that we were creating high volume chances and defending well that the only reason we lost that final was because the players were playing through injury in that match. We cant cry over spoilt milk now (we can, we just shouldnt). Just hope we do better during the 2030 qualifiers. |

We are out due to arrogance and lack of stability. Nigeria vs RSA (2021 till now) Up to 4 different coaches vs 1 coach. Most of the coaches appointed too close to key matches. |

Sugarboyy:Everyone keeps blaming coaches As if it’s the fault of the coach that a player can’t score It’s the fault of the coach that a player can’t make a penetrative pass It’s the fault of the coach that players make errors in defense Truth is we’ve got talented individuals but not a team Make excuse as you want our results have shown how poor we’re |
