That ball he caught cleanly but proceeded to sweep the Rwandan guy off the ground. I shouted cos another ref would have punished him for that.
I shouted too oh!
The ref was lenient today actually
Nwabali should be sternly scolded and warned

Potential penalty move.

whats the road to Word Cup qualification for Nigeria? we are 3rd on the table, is it still possible to qualify for world cup?
We have to win our remaining games and hope results from other groups (especially from the runner-ups for the playoffs) go our way, the more points those runner-up teams drop, the better for our chances.. still slim margins.

No ref is giving that as a penalty
Nwabali was already with the ball

Dude wasn’t threatening at all. Easily dispossessed. Another guy to collect blame is Lookman. Too many missed attempts
He was one on one with a defender and he couldn't beat the defender.

He's not aggressive at all..
Now I can see why with all his goals in the Scottish league, Rangers still don't rate him like that
Yeah. He was just off

Abi if we had won all our games 1:0, we would have been in a different spot by now

That's it.
Their keeper denied us a lot of goals. He's the highlight of today's game, no other person comes close.
Hope the Rwandan keeper will stop South Africa when they meet in October

I blame the coach for that..
He should have taken out iwobi and maybe Simon
The Lookman sub was wrong in my opinion
We were pinning them back and creating chance after chance

But after iwobi and Simon gassed out, we went deeper and deeper into our half

We needed fresh legs to push on
He should have brought Uche and chucks

I guess he was okay with 1;0
And he probably thought Rwanda wasn't much of a threat too
everytime take out iwobi
Taking him out cost us Zimbabwe game

We need serious competition for Nwabali
The guy's antics can be tiring
One of our goalies needs to step up
That yellow card Nwabali collected was uncalled for and very irrelevant. Hope he won't do this in South Africa? Someone better talk sense to him ooo

Good game.

We all expected to win.

I will not lie,, from 80 minutes, na pray I dey pray... As them come bring Ekong enter for 85 minutes, I doubled up...

Osimhen= kilode, joor ooo. Na only you we carry come oooo.. Get well ASAP.

Nwabali = dependable... Although I see a little portable in him.(unpredictable /erratic) but they play one shot, before the guy play am, Uzoho flickered in my head, but we good... E ma 4...Safe 🧤.

Bruno onyemeachi =kilode Ogbeni, all those crosses no be cross ooo. He needs to see coach later and discuss 1 or 2.

Ola Aina =Baller... Nothing else to add except "agba baller"

Frederick.. = composed. 👍
Bassey = Energy
Ndidi = one of his best match I seen. Motm worthy.

Tolu = after a while, I no fear say Osimhen no dey again... Like someone said. He is an Eagle.

Dessers =Same ol same. Nothing significant I seen him did. Also wasn't expecting much. If we qualify, will he make the squad 🤔 food for thought...

Ademola = well I can understand the summer business... Hopefully he will lead better against SA.

I dedicate this win to the great fans. SA next..

SA players will target him..
I watched his last club game before this international window
A player did the same thing, Nwabali got frustrated and pushed him
Only that he didn't get a card last time..

I expect the SA players to target him
So yes, someone should really talk to him

It will be more interesting if Benin lose or draw..

Well, make we dey watch. Super Eagles has always been a "second half" team, at least from majority of the matches I've seen in my lifetime. If we win this game, it will be 1-0. And probably a late goal. The Rwandan defense is solid.
I was right lol. 😂

Wasn't a late goal though.

Iwobi did well, he even saved a goal bound header/shot in the 72nd minute from a corner kick with his chest, after Nwabali was already beaten.

Benin will win Lesotho.

Now that Rwanda and Zimbabwe know they won't qualify, I hope they will still put up a good fight against South Africa in October.

If we win South Africa, out toughest match will be the last, because Benin would still be in contention then.

Simon wasn't it today
But could have scored a sweet free kick that was saved beautifully
I think the coach needs to tell them to prioritize scanning and passing over shooting
Shoot only when there’s no one obviously available
Moses could’ve passed a solid ball but went to shoot it straight to the goalie, bad angle
Somewhat selfish
Osimhen usually pass if he’s lost momentum or doesn’t have proper goal sight
Moses is not one to rely on when we desperately need a goal

We have to win out, hope SA gets a 3pt penalty for fielding an ineligible player and still hope they draw one of their last two games.

Yeah that's true, no wonder he wasn't forceful today
I completely understand the substitution then
Exactly. I expected his injury to be mentioned here for the kind of performance he delivered today, but then I remembered that quite a number of people on this thread don't like him, so I understood immediately. 😄

The good thing is that he's slowly getting back to match fitness. He surprised everyone with how quickly he "supposedly" recovered.

I guess he was just desperate, eager and excited to finally play his first competitive match for Nigeria and only his second match ever on African soil. It was also his first match ever in Nigeria so his dream came through. 😊

It’s obvious to me Peseiro at the AFCON knew how to get the best from our starting 11
This coach is limiting Lookman, one of our potent strikers because he wants his non lethal friend on the left wing
This may cost us
Lookman is one of our deadly forwards & you’re limiting him all of a sudden
Moses will not give us goals like Lookman would even though Lookman can be selfish
I really don’t like the role assigned to Lookman, Chukwueze can play that role instead
Lookman needs space on the flanks to operate

Mybettingtips:
Nigeria will beat SA. Rwanda came with a defensive tactics with dirty art. SA will host us and won’t play like this against super eagles. They will try to attack and make use of available space, Super eagles will play better against SA.
Omo SA has sweet transitioning in their attack oo….SA go use one-two tiki taka style take distabilized our defense ooo….Bassey and frederick gas be ready ooo

True, I think he should work on his decision making more. Pass or shoot, pick one ASAP. Especially passing!

He didn't look like he hasn't played a match since May. Big players na big players...

South Africa v Nigeria

For those who are praying, these should be your request and why.

1. Nigeria wins South Africa for obvious reasons

2. Rwanda wins Zimbabwe. We need them to still be in the running so they can take their game against South Africa seriously. They are unlikely to play hard against South Africa if they are assured of not qualifying.

3. Lesotho wins Benin to stop their momentum.

Benjamin Frederick is the future!!
Ndidi has proved naysayers wrong!!!

A win against S.A come Tuesday.
He's been balling even at Besiktas, his last game he had 7.8 rating.

He's calm and composed now, make he try work on him finishing tho.
