I no go forget Osimhen forcing a PK during AFCON.

If only Dessers was aggressive I'd have loved him to start. He is good at making runs and finding space.
Tolu carry the mantle jare

We await your safe arrival in the present.

i think the points will be deducted from all teams in that group that had played against the bottom teams and not just teams on second place
No. After the qualifying matches. The top 9 teams in the group will qualify straight to the world cup. So if for example SA is still topping the group after the last matches, they will qualify to the World cup, as well as all the other group leaders. Every other team apart from the 2nd placed teams will be eliminated.

Then All the second placed teams will be collected and ranked. But because Eritrea withdrew making Grp E to have just 5 teams. The results of the 2nd placed teams versus all the bottom placed teams will be discounted, just for the purposes of getting the best runner-ups to make it equal standing with group E.
So in Grp E, Morocco has qualified already, the Second placed team for now is Tanzania with 10pts. After the qualifiers their points gathered will be untampered because they only will have played 10 games. While for the other 8 runner ups, their results against the bottom teams in their groups will be subtracted for parity with Tanzania.
For the case of our group, if we finished 2nd and Zimbabwe remained last as they are now. If we win the rest of our matches we will have 19pts. The 2 pts we got against them will be removed, so in that ranking we will be showing as 17pts, while Tanzania will have 16pts assuming they win their remaining 2 games vs Zambia and Niger.
For B/Faso for example 2nd in Grp A with 14 pts currently behind Egypt on 19pts, If Egypt beat them on Tuesday,Egypt will qualify. So if B/Faso win their remaining matches vs S/Leone and Ethiopia. They will have 20pts. But in the 2nd placed teams ranking they will only have 14 points, because the 6 points they got from Djibouti the group’s last team will be discounted. This will be done for all runner ups except Tanzania in Group E who played less games.

I know its long, but thats how its done over the years, except if FIFa decides to change format this time which i doubt

if they decide to deduct points from all second placed teams, walai 9ja will qualify to the play off at best…lest just win our 3games and gather that 19 points and maybe hope zimbabwe remains at the bottom of the table…cos we just took 2points from them…

you see all those other teams like Gabon,Cameroon,Burkina faso and senegal queuing up in that 4place spot…the rate at which all of them will fall off that table and have Nigeria climbing them will be so brutal🤣🤣🤣🤣…cos they have all taken 6points from their various bottom place teams

Iwobi is our chief creator, high football IQ
Watching the game again
They played well
Onyaemechi, Moses & Onyeka were the only questionable performances
Onyemaechi helped create the goal though
Dessers only mistake was letting loose a ball while on the run and in a good offensive/threatening position
Our coach is limiting exceptional Lookman, we will struggle to score goals, I hope it doesn’t cost us
Play Lookman on the left o

The South Africa I watched on Friday is very beatable. Neutralize their No.7 Oswin Appoliss, most of their attacking forays came from that wing (Ola Aina's wing). The first two goals came from that wing. The midfield is lightweight. I pray Osimhen is fit. Starting Osimhen with Arokodare will be big headache for their makeshift defence. Chukwueze would have been perfect for this match against Audrey Modiba. He is fast but commits a lot of fouls.

That is the format that UEFA , CAF and Fifa uses previously. If they adopt that We will qualify to the play offs at least. We landed ourselves into this mess.
And if FIFA punishes SA it will give Lesotho more points and root Zimbabwe to the bottom.

Do we approach SA with 433 or 442? I noticed we play better when we switched to a 442 formation yesterday. We were able to peg their defenders back and have more people in the box. There were points we had Tolu, Dessers, Lookman, Simon in the box. Alina was in the box when we scored the goal. We didn’t play well and they were able to neutralize our attacking options yesterday when we had only one striker.

Nice one from Eric for reading the game and changing his tactics yesterday. We need all 3pts against SA

Nwabali,
I admire his confidence,
But overconfidence could get you killed sometimes.
It was overconfidence that got Pedro Pascal killed in GOT's "Viper vs Mountain fight"

His irrational proclivity for antics could land us in trouble if he continues, he need to be cautioned.
He doesn't need all those razzmatazz to gain recognition and respect, he already got that.

In our final match against CIV,when I watched his body language,I knew something was wrong with him and feared he was going to concede and he did.

He must be very careful in our match against SA because he must surely be tempted to show himself in a place where he ply his trade.

Every match against the bottom placed teams in the groups apart from the group that has 5 teams will be discounted. In the case of our group, the 2 points we got versus Zimbabwe will be removed, if we finish 2nd. For Gabon in group F, the 6 points the got from Seychelles will be discontinued. This will be done after all the matches are concluded. By then we will see who finished 2nd in all the groups and who finished last. This method has been consistently been adopted by FIFA, UEFA and CAF previously. I think if we win all our matches we will be among the best runner up 100%, but any slip ups will be dicey
Wow thanks for this insight.
Eriteria pullin out might the reason SE will qualify south africa got already got 3 points against zim . shocked

Not just Lesotho, Zimbabwe too they both play their home matches in SouthAfrica. Well na we Bleep up, if we won our other 3 home games like other big teams do and at least draw Benin, we we would have been 2 points ahead of SA
Exactly it seems zim and Lesotho were free 6points prepared for SA incase thw gpong get tough then they will allow SA free six points and fortunately SE made it easir fpr them by losin and drawing them

That is not true.. Not all of rhem are regulars. Chukwueze created chances in Nations cup that were missed go and watch the matches again if u have time.
But nobody mentions it

Alternatively, if we beat SA, which I must admit is unlikely and win the other 2 matches versus Lesotho away and Benin at home. We can also pressure FIFA to punish SA. For fielding an ineligible player.

Look oga, it's not that deep. You're right, they're playing the Super Eagles, but every team adjusts their strategy based on the opponent's key players. Take away a team's biggest threat, and the opponent can afford to be a bit more adventurous.

That's just football 101. It's also psychology 101.
But I appreciate te feedback shocked. Afterall na you be the most celebrated football analyst for this forum and in Niger ia as a whole. Nairaland Guardiola. Well done.
If anything with Tolu's two goals, they might be even more wary of him. He's an unknown quantity unlike Osimhen

we might have a reason to thank ekong if that happens. Imagine a goal we conceded at the dying minute made us qualify for the next round. Lets keep our fingers crossed then.
