If the coach wanted him as a RW and he played the way he did yesterday, of course the coach would have yanked him off. I think that was Chelle's idea.

Football ehn. You'd have your time in the sun, everyone hails you, trumpets your praises, you'd feel fly.

Then one day the same fans will tell you go sit down.

Ekong was Benjamin.

Truidstarr:
The South Africa I watched on Friday is very beatable. Neutralize their No.7 Oswin Appoliss, most of their attacking forays came from that wing (Ola Aina's wing). The first two goals came from that wing. The midfield is lightweight. I pray Osimhen is fit. Starting Osimhen with Arokodare will be big headache for their makeshift defence. Chukwueze would have been perfect for this match against Audrey Modiba. He is fast but commits a lot of fouls.
That goal dessers missed yesterday if it was chukwueze its 100% goal. He is so good on 1v1. Infavt in Villarreal he was rated among the best 1v1 wingers.

Mybettingtips:
Do we approach SA with 433 or 442? I noticed we play better when we switched to a 442 formation yesterday. We were able to peg their defenders back and have more people in the box. There were points we had Tolu, Dessers, Lookman, Simon in the box. Alina was in the box when we scored the goal. We didn’t play well and they were able to neutralize our attacking options yesterday when we had only one striker.

Nice one from Eric for reading the game and changing his tactics yesterday. We need all 3pts against SA
My opinion.
Tolu, Dessers (if osimhen is not in)
Simon chukwueze
Iwobi, Uche, Onyeka
Bassey, Fredrick/ekong , Aina
Nwabali

Tolu and Uche must be in that game.

Even without Osimhen. Nigeria can still possibly win this game against South Africa. Keep hope alive

Foe a fact, Nwabali is better then at least 70% of the GKs in the Premier League. That guy is good enough to be the GK of any elite football team. If he was white or light- skinned he would have left Africa.

I doubt if NFF has this record as clear as you have it.
It's high time we start nominating candidates to be appointed into NFF strategic offices, if that's what it takes for them to know the right candidates.
Our major problem in this country is bad leadership, and I believe the youth can change that narrative through sports because it is ours.

yellow card update heading into Tuesday match

1st game home vs Lesotho

2nd game, away vs zimbabwe

CapitalCee:
No. After the qualifying matches. The top 9 teams in the group will qualify straight to the world cup. So if for example SA is still topping the group after the last matches, they will qualify to the World cup, as well as all the other group leaders. Every other team apart from the 2nd placed teams will be eliminated.

Then All the second placed teams will be collected and ranked. But because Eritrea withdrew making Grp E to have just 5 teams. The results of the 2nd placed teams versus all the bottom placed teams will be discounted, just for the purposes of getting the best runner-ups to make it equal standing with group E.
So in Grp E, Morocco has qualified already, the Second placed team for now is Tanzania with 10pts. After the qualifiers their points gathered will be untampered because they only will have played 10 games. While for the other 8 runner ups, their results against the bottom teams in their groups will be subtracted for parity with Tanzania.
For the case of our group, if we finished 2nd and Zimbabwe remained last as they are now. If we win the rest of our matches we will have 19pts. The 2 pts we got against them will be removed, so in that ranking we will be showing as 17pts, while Tanzania will have 16pts assuming they win their remaining 2 games vs Zambia and Niger.
For B/Faso for example 2nd in Grp A with 14 pts currently behind Egypt on 19pts, If Egypt beat them on Tuesday,Egypt will qualify. So if B/Faso win their remaining matches vs S/Leone and Ethiopia. They will have 20pts. But in the 2nd placed teams ranking they will only have 14 points, because the 6 points they got from Djibouti the group’s last team will be discounted. This will be done for all runner ups except Tanzania in Group E who played less games.

I know its long, but thats how its done over the years, except if FIFa decides to change format this time which i doubt
I think if they're going to remove these points due to Eritrea's absence, then it makes sense to do it before declaring automatically qualified teams.

Why I said that is because in a case where we become tied on points with RSA at the end, the table topper can't be determined until point deduction. RSA losing 6 points and Nigeria losing 2 points will make us the automatically qualified team. I hope you get my point

Our last two goals in the WCQ have come through Tolu's hold up play in the 18-yard box which appears to be something from the training ground.

Can't remember when last we saw a curler or volley from outside the box. This team needs to vary their approach in the final third.

I wish there was a way to reach out to the super eagles technical team or even the psychologist working with the players. They need to start incorporating the dark arts of football.
We are always reacting physically instead of psychologically . If you believe the opponents has done anything you feel that if verified by the referee or var, you need to learn how to simulate a reaction that can draw attention for things to positively go in your favour. That is what the Moroccans and the north Africans have been doing for years.

I hope this gets to the players. Only osihmen does this to perfection of all the players who have played for the country. It should be a learned skill for as long as they play football professionally. I wish this can get to the players or anyone around them.

He was on the left Wing. Chelle played Lookman as false 9 then Osimhen as 9. The Attack comes from the left so Lookman is with the ball, Osimhen will drift to the RW. When Moses Simon is with the ball, Lookman creates a passing opportunity while Osimhen waits in the box.

Not as bad a performance as I initially knocked them for.

Osimhen's goal should have stood from the highlights.

Did it really change? Or Naija just lost their edge. Years of Negligence., recklessness and poor foresight and planning led to this. Remember how Nigeria drew Sierra Leone from 4 goals up? That is how we went up to actually losing at home. And our boys got comfortable with it.
