Why is everyone overlooking Benin? There is still big problem if they beat Lesotho, which is very likely. Which means we'll be having two teams surmount in just two games remaining.
Maybe it would be a good thing if Benin beat Lesotho...cus if we beat South Africa, Benin will be 2 points behind South Africa, and maybe it will ginger them to put pressure on FIFA to deduct SA's 3 points... then if that happens, it will be up to us to beat them in our next game to seal qualification...

Lots of "if" and "maybe"....

SA away? After CHAN Nigeria hasn't beaten them on their ground bar in 10 years. A team that has beaten Morocco and Ghana on their home turf is not to be underestimated.

Realistically a draw is what looks odds on to happen but I'm very optimistic we can snatch an unlikely win.
So our best bet is a draw 😎, we go win sha

You're right. Although doesn't Tolu being an "unknown quantity" make him a wildcard, and possibly harder to prep against?

I don't know sha. I'm just sharing my thoughts. That's why we're all here. Not all of us can be omniscient football specialists like Samueltemi337.
if Tolu is unknown to them that means they’ve prepared poorly for this game, last season’s Belgium top scorer who just bagged a move to the EPL can’t be an unknown player

I don't mean "unknown" as in they won't know him at all or he just came out of nowhere. I mean "unknown" in terms of the fact that he's not someone they've faced before, or a player whose style and tendencies they're deeply familiar with.

Yes, they'll watch tapes and all that, but it's not the same as having a scouting report on a player like Osimhen, who has been a top striker in a major European league for years and who they have actually played against at least twice. Osimhen's reputation is so huge it influences entire defensive setups. Remember how Guinea-Bissau defender got shook and scored an own goal that almost looked intentional just because Osimhen was running straight him?

They'll definitely have a specific plan for Osimhen. Big emphasis on specific. For Tolu, they will also have a plan, but because he's not seen in the same caliber, their plans for him might be more generic and applicable to any striker really.

Don't get me wrong, I'm expecting a hell of a fight with South Africa (I'm even more afraid for Benin to be honest) but I don't think it's outright silly to think that they will underestimate Tolu to an extent.

Esther Okoronkwo was a revelation in the last Women's WAFCON. Many people didn't see her coming. Before that tournament started, the names most analysts were calling as threats in the Super Falcons squad were Oshoala and Ajibade. Funny enough, Oshoala ended up playing just one game. She came back in the finals for a couple of minutes but that was it.

Maybe you guys are right and Bafana will lock our offense and throw the key away with Tolu in front, but we'll just have to wait and see anyway.

That point would be removed, I don’t know why Nigerians stomach anyhow ness and even suggest it, people broke standard rules with consequences, so why shouldn’t they be punished?

That’s why this country is probably the way it is, you think if it’s Algeria or Morocco in our shoes South African will not already be jittery?, they will make sure the right thing is done, but see Nigerians all over still second guessing all over the internet ?like why wouldn’t it be removed? Because? In Nigeria people break laws and go unpunished, and we are out there projecting our poor values and systemic inadequacy. Thankfully the whole world is not Nigeria, South Africa will be punished and probably fined.

England vs Germany, Germany play a suspended player, the news will be on repeat on all sport stations, but our journalists are not even sure, they can’t even say it with confidence South Africa point will be deducted to give more spotlight and force the FIFa to protect their integrity, such poor sports journalists that can’t do any research and play the politics of sport journalism.

You play a suspended player, you already cheated, and you will pay for it, it’s standard protocol.
You are looking to deep into my statement. The eventuality of everyone being deducted points from games with the bottom placed team is a given due to already established rules and the exit of Eritrea. The Mokoena situation will take much longer as SA will surely drag this to the CAS and trigger a legal battle that may drag for months.

Nwabali,
I admire his confidence,
But overconfidence could get you killed sometimes.
It was overconfidence that got Pedro Pascal killed in GOT's "Viper vs Mountain fight"

His irrational proclivity for antics could land us in trouble if he continues, he need to be cautioned.
He doesn't need all those razzmatazz to gain recognition and respect, he already got that.

In our final match against CIV,when I watched his body movement,I knew something was wrong with him and feared he was going to concede and he did.

He must be very careful in our match against SA because he must surely be tempted to show himself in place where he ply his trade.
Nwabali probably conceded 2 penalties but the referee ignored it

SA will be confused at this point. I am certain that their game plan was focused on a Nigerian attack that was hinged on Osimhen.

Every match against the bottom placed teams in the groups apart from the group that has 5 teams will be discounted. In the case of our group, the 2 points we got versus Zimbabwe will be removed, if we finish 2nd. For Gabon in group F, the 6 points the got from Seychelles will be discontinued. This will be done after all the matches are concluded. By then we will see who finished 2nd in all the groups and who finished last. This method has been consistently been adopted by FIFA, UEFA and CAF previously. I think if we win all our matches we will be among the best runner up 100%, but any slip ups will be dicey

SA might decide to go defensive, knowing well that we struggle to crack defensive teams and wait to hit us on counter

doesn't align with their game play. They are used to passing and running with the ball. the reason they tend to score lots of goals.

In a bid to water down my point, you ended up agreeing with me 💯.

We were incapacitated in the absence of Osimhen because we over rely on Osimhen to get us goals.

What that simply means, is that our over reliance on Osimhen renders the team almost useless when there is no Osimhen. We need to learn to vary things so that we don't win only when Osimhen is around. The team should learn to bear the goal scoring burden both in the presence and absence of Osimhen. They should stop putting the whole goal scoring burden on Osimhen. Don't you get the point?

Once again, our over reliance on Osimhen limits the team, and I'm already seeing signs that Chelle has noticed that and working on it.

I need a team where we would be having about 3 different names in the score sheet on a match day, not a team where once Osimhen is caged, the team becomes impotent.
True sha. On Tuesday...

I think if they're going to remove these points due to Eritrea's absence, then it makes sense to do it before declaring automatically qualified teams.

Why I said that is because in a case where we become tied on points with RSA at the end, the table topper can't be determined until point deduction. RSA losing 6 points and Nigeria losing 2 points will make us the automatically qualified team. I hope you get my point
The deduction is not to determine who top group but to place all groups on equal footing in order to select the best 4 runners up.

This is their game plan, also considering that they will want to play for a draw too.

Some of their plans may also include:
Getting as many corner kicks against Super Eagles because Super Eagles don't fare very well defending them. They almost conceded against Rwanda with the very few corners they conceded.

They may also try to capitalize on GK's recent behaviors by getting their players to get him agitated to repeat what he did in Uyo, knowing fully well that the Ref may not be lenient this time, especially when South Africa is the host nation.

I noticed the Left Back did have a much pace and used his positional awareness to compensate for that in the last game, who knows if SA have taken note of it to exploit his wing with their pacy wingers/strikers.

Though Fredrick was impressive in Uyo, but Ekong has been the one offering aerial advantage in that defense, and that's where he is actually good at, and without him, the Super Eagles risk struggling in that area if they play against a team that wants to attack aerially. I'm not saying Fredrick should be benched though, but just pointing out what the absence of Ekong in the defense may result in.

Ekong is better with aerial defense than the other Super Eagles defenders, who are also better than him in their own ways.

He needs to be talked to, cos I’ve seen pics of his rage too in the SA league for his club.

I just hope he’s fully recovered from the loss of his parents as that’s no fluke at all, he may need a personal psychologist to examine him and help him through any silent struggles he might have

Nwabali is crazy yes but he is the best keeper we have have in recent Times apart from that U.K based keeper that had cancer(forgot his mame dude had confidence too)
Nwabali is very good he just needs to be talked to. They dont notice how good he is with positioning. A short that some keepers might dive to save u will see nwabali standing infront of the short to calm it down like nothing. He did it more than twice yesterday. Nwabali is better than many keepers in EPL
