If you're about more than just returns looking to truly level up your investing game, Coronation Investment Academy is a great resource. They share practical insights and structured learning that can really sharpen your skills as a retail investor. On the investment side, you might also want to check out Coronation’s Money Market Fund. It’s competitive in terms of yield, and like others in the space, it focuses on safety and liquidity—so it could be a good alternative to what you’ve already tried. wkkwl: |

marksleek2584:1. Currently offering one of the highest rates @ over 20%. 2. Signing up is easy via their web portal. 3. Email communication is one aspect that they seriously need to improve on. 4. You can top up your investment via the usual bank transfers & virtual account numbers (from their web portal). 5. I'm not aware they have a mobile app yet but the web is active. |

PalmPay offers the service. You can check the Welath option. |

bfn1:I wanted to give them a try, but their supposedly highest rate is not publicly available. Transparency is key to me. It's difficult to track your fund when you don't even see the yield |

Ogas in the house pls hw will this TiN (tax) affect us?? Hw deep will it bite. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Preator: 6:07pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
alexokeke325:Tentatively, no impact. Ur returns is exempt from PIT and CGT in your hands. Any required tax would av been paid by the fund manager. The FM rates may drop though if their taxes go up. But I havent seen anything in the new law that should cause that. NB: from next year the IRS will have regulatory access to your bank statements so if you have heavy incomes that have been evading taxation before you may start getting extra assessment. |

emmasoft:Baba, the fact is that Stanbic IBTC asset management has lost their best hands. The new crop of people working for them now can best be described as monkeys. They can not handle anything. Can you imagine that I funded my account with the E-account number clearly written, yet they wrongly transferred the money to another account? Many people have been struggling to redeem their money for more than 4 days now. This is what happens when a corporate entity fails to retain their best hands because they believe any graduate can do the job. I don't advise anybody to do business with Stanbic IBTC asset management even if their yield is the highest. Bunch of incompetent young ladies. They pick your call and struggle to communicate effectively. Overall, the intended purpose for calling them will not be fulfilled. They close happily and get paid at the end of the month. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Batman2412(m): 7:46pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
Am I supposed to expect end of quarter mmf reinvestment this month or next? |
| Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 9:18pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
Batman2412:Irrespective of the fund managers, except for Stanbic, which does monthly reinvestment, once you pick the reinvestment of interest option during registration, it will be reinvested automatically at the end of each quarter, and September is the end of the 3rd quarter. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 9:25pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
emmasoft:Kindly also point out to those who might not know that Quarter of a year doesn't work like simple maths where you just say after [every] 4-months |
| Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 9:32pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
bassdow:A quarter is every three months, which makes us have 4 quarters in a year. Jan- Mar, April to June, July to Sept., and October to December. Hence, reinvestment is done on 31st March, 30th June, 30th Sept, and 31st Dec. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 10:15pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
emmasoft:yea you right. made a mistake in saying 4 instead of 3. Responding while multi-tasking can be really distracting |

| Re: Mutual Funds by Harddiskng(m): 8:13am On Sep 10, 2025 |
Polchiz:Omo, this is very harsh ![]() Though i have to agree with the bolded. I thought i was the only one that noticed how their current crop of young employees struggle with effective and concise communication. I no longer call, cause even from “Hello” i start to get angry. I mostly communicate with them via email and it takes 3, 4, 5,6 iterations (mail exchanges) to usually land at our final bus-stop about the solution to an issue and all these would take the span of a month or more most times. Ratherless, when it comes to operational efficiency. Stanbic is still one of the best - in the land of the blind, one eyed man is king. At least they have leaders, driving performance. I no go talk when my eye don see for another asset manager hand . Those ones no dey see mail talk less of acknowledging it lol |
| Re: Mutual Funds by freeman67: 9:28am On Sep 10, 2025 |
Harddiskng:Yes, when it comes to contactless transactions Stanbic is the most superior as far as the Nigerian Mutual Fund space is concerned. Before they use to have the best brains there too. However, the quality of humans there now, especially those in customer service has depreciated seriously. You can never get issues resolved without being frustrated and your issues can never be resolved with just phone calls. You have to keep following them from all angles. Calling them now is tantamount to wasting of Airtime. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 10:43am On Sep 10, 2025 |
Harddiskng:Have you taken a moment to check if it's your approach that needs be altered. Yea I would agree with you that generally, when it comes to over-the-phone customer care service, the moment a feMale picks the call, I know what to expect most times unlike when it's their Male counterparts BUT there also have been times when I was very very impressed by services of the feMales also. There are a couple of things I observe - they tend to rephrase your questions (males do same but more often by the feMales) and then try to provide a response to that. I'm quick to point out and stop such. Then if I observe despite carefully wording my questions, there seem to be no headway, I thank and end the call only to call them back few minutes later or even immediately knowing fully well chances of same person picking up is low. Suffice to say, the only time I ever experience this gender based unEqual customer service experience is mostly when calling my Network operators e.g MTN, Airtel, etc. When it comes to the financial sector, it's very rare; mayBe because I know what I mean and ask accordingly or because I do not call so so so often compared to those with very little to no knowledge. Of course there are [few] times where I request they pass my call to their supervisor or someone much more experienced. At end of the day, the blame shouldn't be 100% entirely theirs as a lot of customers really have not the slightest clue w hat they want or are asking, hence don't expect me giving you a reasonable response when I'm yet to fully understand what you mean. Yea I also understand that if they're properly trained, they should be able to dig deeper and keep querying you till you throw enough light to your issue. Problem be say dem sef fit get their own personal issues. Imagine staff wey despite having marital / financial issues, still beat through the traffic to get to work; make you come dey unLoad your problems on top him/her head. At end of the day, lets try not to use blanket statements as it tells a lot about us. and yea, customer service work ain't easy and can be frustrating especially when you know they're adult who acts like they wouldn't know what to do when given a Man or woman. I know this because despite being in IT (server administration + web development), I relate with clients on daily basis. |

bfn1:Thanks a bunch. Do you have any idea of the ease of funds redemption? Asides the ease of depositing, one has to know about their redemption processs😃 Make person no go hear gist when the need for redemption occurs. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Harddiskng(m): 11:24am On Sep 10, 2025 |
bassdow:Btw you are quoting the wrong person, i made no mention of any gender bias. I don’t bother with telephone conversations again, the last enquiry i made on Dollar funds, about charges. Instead make the person to just talk say I don’t know the actual breakdown; they would trying to bamboozle me with nonsense. It was the amount of credit i wasted to get simple clarity on the situation, that pained me. There is nothing bad, in saying; please can you give me a moment to call you back on this but i guess it is a function of their leader and how the call center set-up, for most companies the culture is quantity over quality. But mehn if you are going to provide deplorable telephone services atleast make it toll-free. I am always relaxed and in a good mood when calling standard chartered customer service ![]() Regarding email exchange, I usually detail my issue and ask for their solution. Solution would be given and I comply. Upon submission, It would be picked up by another person. Who go con dey tell me different story. Na here i go con dey confuse regarding which of these two persons know what they are talking about. “You are saying this, find attached mail from Mr Miss A saying that; wetin dey sup naa”. It is at this point of them having to provide an apt clarification, our email dance go con start. Me sef don tire, If they say A i go just do am. After complying with A; if they say B again; i comply again. I no get too much energy again. |

marksleek2584:if you had taken a moment to read through the last couple of pages (less than 15 actually), you would have gotten much more than that |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 12:46pm On Sep 10, 2025 |
Harddiskng:Funny enough, I kinda prefer Voice-Call than eMail conversation because I want a response now, not later at your time. As for the issue of someOne else picking up your call and starting all over again, it's probably because yu don't know how a contact / Call center works + those at the other end fail to do the needful. Every conversation ought be recorded. In situations where I might have to call back, I remind them to ensure our conversation is documented (which they already should do without being told) THEN next time I call again, I ask they review details of my previous call and that's when they would ask I hold on for a moment let them do so. As for the issue of doing A, then being Asked to B, then C; me no dey too follow suggestions blindly. As you asking I do something, I'm reviewing it in ma brain to reason if it makes sense. But then again, not everyOne has enough knowledge to achieve such |
