Danielnino00:That's why I said that CAF/FIFA will decide. They are the umpire and they will decide what happens. Examples abound for both. One is fair, one is not. It's part of the politics of the game. |

oloriooko:The fool sabotaged the game with that line-up, I winced in anger and knew we were in for a really bad one when I saw Ekong AND Moses Simon starting that game, I don't know why Chelle didn't learn from the Rwanda game and other previous games that Simon Moses is a very limited player who is past his usefulness. The team that started the second half should have started the first half. A midfield of Onyedika, Dele-Bashiru and Uche/Onyeka would have been solid while Iwobi played from the LW where he does well for Fulham (at a point Iwobi had to play the DM role when Ndidi was subbed out, Iwobi was supposed to be our only creative outlet for goodness sake), and maybe Lookman in the RW. We had absolutely no width! Chukwueze should also have gotten in early... At the end all we are left with is "should have, would have", cause nothing is ever guaranteed when it comes to these players. I'm just over it, let's just press the reset button and start afresh with a new generation of players with Bassey and Frederick as the spine of the new players, give me the most exciting prospects we can get from the U20 team going to the world cup (that's if NFF don't mess that one up again with their rubbish and 419 selection). We have to get it right with this U20 world cup coming up by scouting and assembling the best known and unknown Nigerian talents both home and abroad), so that we can start rebuilding and preparing for 2030 with the AFCON and subsequent games next year. |

Our chances of qualifying as best runner up is by far slimmer than direct qualification, when we hadn't played South Africa. Look that runner up table well well. Even if we win our remaining two games e go still hard. |

SA will finish the job.. make una leave matter. I'm not overrating them but they just played against a very determined/desperate Super Eagles. caprikon: |

We only played well yesterday because we know we needed nothing short of a win. Post WCQs, we will be back to our usual selves. |

If Chelle gets our midfield combos right ehn, there is no stopping this team at the Afcon. Uche, Onyedika, Iwobi, FDB, Onyeka, Ndidi. From these 6, we can weave together a midfield 3 that balances out giving us creativity packed with Steel and Physical Presence. I am not even including uncapped lads like Ojediran, Ogbelu or Anthony just yet. Odunayaw: |

Alex Iwobi in top 5 of Most Open Play Chances created in the EPL since 22/23 season. He didnt achieve this playing mostly as a DLP.

QueenJazz:You do well. I also believe there is hope. Last AFCON, Ivory Coast were all but eliminated in the group stage until the last group game,. They qualified by the skin of their teeth, and they eventually won the competition. Football is a game of 90 minutes + injury time + until the referee blows the whistle so I will keep believing until the last round of qualifiers. If we don't eventually qualify, man no die, man no rotten, life goes on, and we face the next task, AFCON in December. No matter what happens, I will always support the Super Eagles, and all other Nigerian football teams. Naija na my own clubside so I'll ride with them until I'm no more. |

Hugo Broos should just shut up. He makes no sense. Is it our fault that SA dont have the quality to have players feature for those teams he mentioned? Abi na our fault say dem no get enough lads in the Big leagues. Let them focus on making the WC. Not like they will do anything meaningful there anyway. They have never made it past the first round. femianski: |

femianski:I think I understand what he's trying to say, but the way he worded it is very weird, and almost dumb. Edit: scratch that. This Hugo Broos is a clown. Because he managed a draw. These Southies get on my damn nerves I swear. I pray we meet them somehow in the AFCON so that we can put them in their place once more. Of course we have a lot of work to do before that tentative meeting. |

semid4lyfe:Baba nla. I see your doings. Well, we have no choice but to watch and hope. Me, I'm trying not too invest myself too much in it cos my heart is frail. At this stage, I'm just looking at the remaining games as prep for the AFCON and that's how I'll watch them, to see if Chelle has learnt from his mistakes. |

Goke7:I hope the draw with SA has not deflated morale in the camp. We still need to take the fight to Benin and beat them handsomely. |

To be honest the decline in our football lies at the doorstep of the leadership of the NFF, look at our junior teams in recent years, they have regressed so badly we now even struggle to qualify for competitions we once used to dominate.... The Nff is been ran by old men who have zero knowledge about football, just interested in their pockets thats all, in as much as we are all angry with the players and coaches, our inability to qualify for back to back world cup tournaments is on the NFF executives, in a sane country they should be resignations by now |

TheSuperNerd:Why can't we set up with a midfield trio of Onyedika, Uche, Iwobi, It'll give us more balance and reduce the creative burden on iwobi.. If by the next afcon we are still parading the likes of ndidi in our midfield then we would be disappointed once more |

QueenJazz:Yes, that one too dey. Eric Chelle made the costly error of starting Dessers and Ekong. The remaining games would be good early prep for the AFCON, and to observe what the Coach has learnt from his four games in charge. Eric Chelle played four games, won two and drew two, amassing a total of 8 points from a possible 12. 8/12 = 66.6% Finidi played two games, drew to SA and lost to Benin Republic, obtaining only 1 point from a possible 6. 1/6 = 16.6% Peseiro played two games. and drew both, to Lesotho and Zimbabwe delivering only 2 points. 2/6 = 33.3% I post the above so we can properly attribute the blame for our precarious situation, and possible non-qualification for the world cup. TheSuperNerd:Baba, you never recover from the PTSD? Sorry, no vex. I couldn't think of a better example to buttress my point ![]() |
