This suggests that either the efficacy of vaccines given at birth is decreasing, or parents are no longer bringing their children for vaccination.... Vaccination is free.... |

Judolisco:The way Nigeria is currently I guess it will be hard to trust any kind of vaccine since Bill Gates and co are trying to depopulate the world at all cost |

Bigchris01:except u have an alternative... If not, vaccines have proven to be effective over the years.... And most of us have benefited from bill Gates in one way or another especially through his vaccination funding.... To make vaccines and even to preserve them is very expensive(read about d cold chain system).... So don't u think that if bill gates really wanted to reduce our population he would have done it since.... Because gates Foundation have been funding vaccines since the 90's especially in Africa and Nigeria... So instead of blaming Bill Gates better tell people take their children for immunisation |

Diphtheria is a serious, contagious bacterial infection caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae that produces a toxin damaging the throat, nose, and sometimes the heart and other organs. Key symptoms include a sore throat, fever, and a thick gray membrane on the tonsils or throat. The infection spreads through respiratory droplets from coughing or sneezing. Diphtheria is preventable through vaccination and treated with antibiotics and diphtheria antitoxin, though it can be fatal, especially in the unvaccinated or with delayed treatment |

This is the highlight of the report. According to reports obtained by The Bureau News, many of the victims were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Bida, but could not survive due to a shortage of drugs required for urgent treatment. So sad. |

Judolisco:Quite sad that children will be dying from preventable diseases. The government, NGOs, professional bodies etc. need to do more to enlighten the public on the importance of childhood vaccinations, sanitation, use of safe water etc. And government needs to live to its responsibilities by ensuring availability & use of potent vaccines for immunization of children & ensuring that health facilities are functional & easily accessed by the people. |
