I knew she was not the one for me at that point.

When I realised she had no mind of her own. Like every garbage she lifts of everywhere influences her decisions. I had to run without even looking back

When she came to my house...

And started snooping around when I was away. Ransacked all my documents.

And me I know how I keep my things.

Came back...asked her she denied but later admitted.

It was at that point....plus I was already noticing she was too possecive. ( I can't spell right now)!

Ate her own food finish begin dey drag my own join, there and then I knew I was in for long thing........

She said if she got married she can't cook for her husband that it's modern day slavery. I block her papa after the call that night.

Always finding it hard to comprehend English. I hard to explain like I'm teaching a primary school students.

When she picked the bill.

I travelled for a while and intentionally sent a friend to my house after about 2wks to see the current state of things. He went, took pics and sent to me. The whole house was dirty and unkept. I now informed her that I will be coming back home, only to arrive and meet the whole place clean and arranged. For my mind I don know say na pretender I wan marry. I kicked her assss out of my house. Most ladies are pigggs. If you doubt am, go their house unexpectedly.

She mentioned that if I was ''Osu'', she would not marry me because she will not be allowed to speak at village meetings, and she will not be allowed to lead or speak when village women meet...etc. This person is a graduate. Well-read. I told her if she was, I wouldn't care and would still marry her, as I had even made concrete plans for all my kids to be born in the US - Have well-to-do siblings there, and I am financially blessed also.

But that her response when we discussed this topic of ''Osu'' and ''Freeborns'' changed everything. My initial thought was, ''what do I care about what one old tradition says? I will love you no matter what. It is your personality, pleasantness, peace, beautiful spirit, chastity, resourcefulness, respect, support, holding the home front well, etc. that I am attracted to, not your outdated village customs''. To imagine that the same person complains about how whites enslaved and colonized black people. Don't get me wrong, I like useful customs and traditions. Respect for elders, Honesty, Kinship, Supporting the old/infirm, folktales, safe and healthy rites and practices, etc.

Anyway, with this, I simply knew it wasn't the mentality I wanted my kids to have.

To other people, this might not be much. To me, it meant a lot and implied a lot of things.
