I remember when posting vile things on the internet was a god given right and the left was evil for saying spreading hate is not a right. Now if you criticize people who spread hate, you lose your job or your visa if you’re a tourist.

Before he became president,CNN was a reliable news network.So many journalists and media houses had their biases but they strove to be balanced. Enter the tin god,I don't know whether he spied abd blackmailed them ,but journalism was thrown out of the window. Hatred was allowed to foster. When Trump won,media officially became the democrat PR department.

I’m a committed Christian, a strong believer in free speech, and an advocate for critical thinking that refuses to settle for shallow binaries. I believe in wrestling with the full weight of human complexity: spiritual, moral, and behavioral.

Yesterday, someone asked if I was familiar with Charlie Kirk. I said, “Yes. While I agree with some of his positions rooted in biblical ethics, I generally avoid his content. His anti-Black rhetoric makes it hard to see his platform as one rooted in justice, truth, or sound theology."

Learning of his death, I was jolted by the (unconfirmed) possibility that one’s politics could incur mortal risk. And what I’ve witnessed since has left me equally unsettled.

There is an idol complex that has taken root in certain Christian spaces where allegiance to a platform, or in this case, religious identity, is mistaken for faithfulness to Christ, leading to the uncritical endorsement of racist rhetoric.

Kirk has argued that Blacks are disproportionately violent and criminal due to cultural decay, a claim that not only lacks theological integrity but disregards well-documented structural factors such as over-policing, racialized surveillance, historic disinvestment, and systemic bias within the criminal justice system.

Statistics reflect who is targeted, not who is inherently criminal. We are 3.6x more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession than Whites despite similar usage rates, and Black men are 23.4% less likely than White men to receive probation, even when convicted of similar offenses (among those who are incarcerated their sentences are longer). Darker‑skinned Blacks fare worse: receiving significantly longer sentences than lighter‑skinned Blacks or Whites with comparable charges.

I struggle to understand how someone who presented himself as an intellectual and Christian can so confidently weaponize data without confronting the structures of sin and power behind it. Yet, when mass school shootings (committed overwhelmingly by White males) dominate national headlines, he didn’t label that a White cultural pathology. He didn’t ask what’s broken in White family structures, or call it the fruit of moral collapse. When the perpetrators are Black, however, the judgment becomes collective and cultural.

One would expect that both Black and White conservative Christians, grounded in a biblical understanding of sinfulness, would reject narratives suggesting one group is more depraved. Yet, such claims are advanced behind appeals to statistics, “law and order,” or cultural pathology, and receive little resistance when endorsed by a Christian figure. This reveals not only theological inconsistency but a dangerous tolerance for sin when it aligns with political loyalty. If our allegiance is to Christ, we must reject tribalism and pursue a faith marked by biblical integrity.

Our theology must be consistent, and our witness must be rooted in truth, even when it's uncomfortable. Especially then.
