Ilaje local government segment of Lagos-Calabar coastal highway.

Starting from Irokun, en route Agerige down to Oke ipare, all 63 kilometers of the road passes through Ondo State 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Thank you Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TINUBU
@officialABAT , Ondo state is grateful
I saw some videos in my YouTube timeline on the Ondo section clearing last week. At least that would open up that corridor to more manufacturing and tourist investments being an area sharing direct boundaries with the Atlantic Ocean.

Off course, the Atlantic Ocean has led to the loss of huge coastlines in Ondo with lands lost several kilometers into the Atlantic Ocean due to climate change and sea level rises as seen in documentaries the Ilaje coastline. So, there are advanced solutions that can be used to reclaim and protect the lands like the now President 'Bola Tinubu and Chagoury Group did with the Eko Atlantic City project which saved Victoria Island and contiguous areas from disappearing into the sea due to annual floodings especially back in the early 2000s.

If most existing federal roads in Ondo state are not motorable, then why thank Tinubu for his misplaced priority for a new road huh

I still find it hard to understand the wisdom behind this infrastructure expenditure. Good as it may be, we have better things to do than the amount spent or to be spent on this.

BAT's idea against the whole of the country.

Opportunity right and left.
You cant understand, so no need explaining to you.
Leaders plan ahead, seek for alternative ways of getting things done.
What did GEJ used our money to do even when crude oil was over 100 usd per barrel.

Money that should have been challenged into intensive agriculture and security of farmland, is being used to build white elephant projects. They just want to be like north Korea. Big projects everywhere, poor hungry masses.
Who told you agriculture and livestock development are not being taken care of? What do you think PBAT has been doing with Brazil? What do you think the tractors recently procured are being used for? Above all, existing federal roads are getting required attention while new ones are still being built. May Tinubu succeed,God bless Nigeria forever

We want to be like the developed world but don't want to do the work. Do these guys think that the i-10 and i-20 in America flew down from the skies?

America is X10 of Nigeria or so yet connected by good roads. These skeptics would have left America as a village if you let them govern with their negativity. Nothing is worth comending.
Please don't insult Americans, they don't place kick backs and blowing of contract terms before their citizens, they value their citizens more than they value the roads they construct....

After constructing the coastal road, how many kidnappers do you think it will recruit in Nigeriahuh Take case study from the existing roads now in the hands of bandits ....

Still waiting to see how 700km road will be completed in 3years..... it'll take a miracle to complete..
The miracle is in the treasury already, from the subsidy savings that is making petrol and life so expensive.

Kiss the truth.

TimeManager:
The Federal Government has revealed that the elimination of the petrol subsidy under President Bola Tinubu has resulted in savings of over $84 billion, which are now being channelled into the construction and rehabilitation of 40 key road projects across the country over the past two years.

This was disclosed in a policy brief released by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), titled “Two Years Later: Key Benefits of Subsidy Removal,” and made available to journalists over the weekend in Abuja.

The report, which reviewed the outcomes of the subsidy removal since May 29, 2023, noted that the policy averted a looming economic crisis.

It also enabled the Tinubu administration to clear long-standing financial liabilities, increase capital investments, and support the financial stability of state governments.

it's an irrelevant project. If we do not have existing inter-state roads, then I'd go with the idea. But having Inter-state roads that needs urgent fixing, yet building new roads is a waste of resources.

This Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway project is a very courageous project. It requires greater courage than the courage required to remove oil subsidy. This is a project of lifetime. About seven years ago When DANGOTE said the Refinery project is his lifetime project, I never knew the meaning that time, but now I understand.

With all due respect to Goodluck Jonathan, looking at the complexity of this project and the terrain with dredging, sandfilling, pilling, bridges, etc and the budget politics at the
National Assembly , I don't know how Jonathan would have been able to start the Lagos Calabar Coastal Railway project as planned if he had won 2015 election. Buhari went through the project documents and abandoned it for Kano Maradi project.

The courage to tame the Atlantic Ocean from submerging Victoria Island, Lekki and Ajah was a great courage but Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway project is greater.

I salute the courage of TINUBU and the determination of UMAHI on this project.

All the roads from Lagos to the South South, South east and North are 60% un motorable these new roads is a waste of resources.

The Lekki Epe expressway is now getting very busy due to trucks at the Dangote refinery. This road offers a good alternative route. This road has many benefits to be honest and there is never a right time to start anything. Just start and keep going.

The road will definitely benefit some communities when and if completed. My ultimate fear is the maintenance. I would have have preferred if they could just reconstruct the existing roads.
I will rather want they invest heavily in the train sector just like the coastal highway.

Many of those Nigerians in foreign lands talk about train systems and how they use it heavily and yet Nigerians don't know that should be the cheapest means of transportation that investment should go into going by the way the regions are located.

Maybe because you've never been to the north. Northern heads of states over the years constructed dual carriage roads basically from Abuja through Suleja to Kaduna to Zaria to Kano. Obasanjo came and did jackshit in the south. Same thing GEJ. Tulumbu came to open the south with a road that'll make travelling easier, people started crying. If Tinubu doesn't do it, do you know when we will have another southern president that won't pander to the north?
We also have Lagos to Sagamu to Iijebu Ode to Ore to Benin to Asaba to Onitsha. There is also Lagos to Sagamu to Ibadan to Oyo that supposed to extend to Ilorin and from there to north/ Abuja.
PBAT should have focused on linking those inner roads.

Thanks jare. They want magic. It won't happen. Na serious work. I am still waiting for the day Nigeria will protest against importation. That's where pressure point to reset this country lies. grin cheesy cheesy

Massive protest against importation of anything we can replace, substitute or practically of no use here to encourage local extraction of resources more and adopting them to fit the need of this country.
