Join the business and sell at a cheaper rate, if you believe that those sellers overprice their items.

I heard that even fruits are expensive there. So, why won't things imported all the way from Africa be expensive?

Do you know that any Japanese that enters Nigeria and finds out that 2007 model of Toyota Corolla goes for more than 3 million naira will complain that the price is outrageous? He will do so because the car is very cheap and becoming outdated in Japan. But that Japanese does not know the cost of bringing that almost-outdated model of car to Nigeria. It is easy for an African person to complain of the price of pounded yam in a Western country because that African is probably judging by the cost of the same pounded yam in Africa without knowing the cost of providing the same pounded yam in a Western country. So, join the business, pay rent and all the taxes in that country, export yam from Africa and tell us your own price.
The way people like you talk, one would think you're all wealthy and can effortlessly afford whatever you desire. But oftentimes, it turns out you’re actually as poor as the proverbial church mouse!

He should “join the business and bring the price down” simply because he noticed an anomaly—one driven by greed and corruption—and chose to speak out against it?

Why is it that people like you seem to take sadistic pleasure in watching ordinary people get cheated under the guise of doing business? Mr businessman,I hope you can afford a plate jollof rice at Hida Baci's eatery?

You talk as if you can even walk into a decent restaurant in Nigeria and afford a proper meal, yet here you are condemning a man who pays $140 for a plate of pounded yam abroad!

1.
What does wealth or poverty have to do with truth? If what I said is not true, prove it. If what I said is true, what exactly is your problem?

2.
If you think a seller gives outrageous prices, patronise another seller or join the business and sell at cheaper rates.

But Brazil is not in US.
To carry it from Brazil to US is still importation for US.
So it will still be expensive in US.
It's not... The food vendors are not the ones importing it... The food vendors buy from grocery stores..
