this is nice.. but for a bank that has so many issues, i'm pretty sure these earnings aren't from the middle class. imagine having to wait for an otp because you want to transfer 1k. |

Quite commendable, but we've got to factor in foreign exchange gain into their earnings. |

2.5 trillion naira? From doing what exactly? Endless charges on accounts? That's over 350 million dollars in profits. After writing over 750 billion dollars off as bad debt, how else did the bank generate such huge funds? |

Olaide1295:It was a good performance by all indices my brother. When you factor in the bad loan provision, Adaora’s led management team over tried. Let’s give her flowers Biko. |

Wow, excellent results. That is 5 trillion annual earnings. Congrats to Madam Adaora. My advice is for her to explore investment banking and asset management like Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank. And also expand their branches globally. |

Write off a loan of N760 Billion....money shared amongst who and who. They need to release all the people that took the loans and did not pay back. Nigerian Banks and different layers of fraud...all these funds ought to go to investors and stakeholders...but the loans were written off...the written off loans are more than the gross profits. God Bless Nigeria ![]() AnonPoet: |

Lovit:Assumption 1: Zenith bank deducts N100/week on every account it has. Truth: This is impossible because everyone in Nigeria would have escalated it in this age of social media. Assumption 2: They have a base of 3 million active accounts that they can withdraw N100/week from, without the owners of the accounts complaining. Truth: Impossible. This would include market women, petty traders and old retirees who see N400 leaving their accounts monthly without explanations. Assumption 3: It is because of this N100/week theft that they can declare the N2.5tn revenue. Truth: Even if they "steal" N300m/week from every account, this equals N1.2bn/month or N14.4bn/year. That amount is 0.576% (not up to 1%) of the N2.5tn that was declared. So, your N100/week theft couldn't have added significantly to their bottom line. I said this because your statement may trigger other people negatively. It's often a poverty worldview that makes the poorest among us to believe that the richest among us got there because they are thieves. Please, follow this calculation and see if you won't think of doing a retraction of the comment you posted. |

doncartel:Huh? Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank? On top how much? Have you converted this N2.5tn into dollars to know how much that is worth and see if any of those 3 firms will be interested? Na just $1.6bn ooo. Like for real?! They won't naaahhh. |
| Re: Zenith Bank’s Gross Earnings Hit ₦2.5 Trillion In H1 2025 by LivingEarthMan(m): 4:30pm On Sep 19, 2025 |
N1.25 dividend per share. That translates to billions of Naira for people like Jim Ovia who owns billion units of shares of the bank. Not bad. But I keep wondering what Jim Ovia is doing with all this excess money. The society hardly feel his impact unlike somebody like Tony Elumelu who we all know has been empowering entrepreneurs all over the country through his Tony Elumelu Foundation. |

| Re: Zenith Bank’s Gross Earnings Hit ₦2.5 Trillion In H1 2025 by doncartel: 4:50pm On Sep 19, 2025 |
TheBizGenius:Lol I meant that Zenith Bank can model itself after those firms. For example, Deutsche Bank used to be mostly commercial banking but their investment banking division seems to be trying to overtake their other areas of operations. I also recommended geographical expansion (like Citibank which is in over 100 countries) for Zenith Bank to become the Number 1 African bank. |

doncartel:Ohhhh. My bad. I understand you now. Hmmmm. That's still a lot to ask from Zenith though. But for you to think that far for them, it means you must be intelligent. And for wishing good for people, in this present Nigeria, you must indeed be a good hearted person. God bless you. |
