Constantly over working is not something you do by mistake but terminating her visa half way is just too harsh...she is working towards graduating with a 1stt class degree according to her video.

If she appeals the decision they are likely to allow her enough time to finish her degree and leave the UK.
dem go tell her say .. D sch get online program.... Uno sabi dis people sha

I can only join other Nigerians to pray for her. As someone without a passport, I still don't know how Nigerians are coping in the UK.

The news coming from there always is always disturbing. I was on a space of Nigerians in the UK few days ago and I'm just praying for them... How are they managing paying thousands of pounds for papers all the time.

Sincerely I really wish Nigeria National orientation agency will start speaking up... Many Nigerians are fine living in Nigeria but because of online noise about abroad some will resign from government jobs, abandoned flourishing business only to arrive abroad and start developing high blood pressure over bills.

Just last week i heard a gist of a man who sold two buildings just to travel to the US, he has been booted out now and don't know how to start again... Abroad is good with testimonies but I think its not for everyone.
You're completely right. But no matter how national orientation try, trust Nigerians with slavery colonial mentality. They we not listening.

Which city is she studying in sef? Respect the visa rules and conditions, but find your own way in the UK without leaving any trails or evidence for the home office to use against you. The UK Home Office knows all these tricks of playing the system, but they are cool with it as long as they don't catch you red handed. There are illegal immigrants in the UK who are worth hundreds of thousands of pounds and have investments in property, but they are faceless and unknown to the government. They don't exist " officially " . Know the game and you will be ok. Cheers.

Some of the posts on here just shows many Nigerians don’t like playing by the rules. Thus our current predicament.

If you are skilled in a field that is of high demand in the West and a sure pathway for immigrating, Japa is the best decision.

Through her national insurance contribution, the more hours you work the more you pay through the NI.

High NI contribution from a student is suspicious
What if she didn't contribute to it? Or they deduct it automatically? Does this has to do with money one receives into their account from organizations? How one do more hours without being caught? Is freelancing online (e.g., Upwork) a problem?

Its very easy. Everyone has a paycheck which NI and tax is deducted. Then maybe pension too but it is not mandatory for pension. After the deduction is ur payable income. They will always see it except the person give u cash. Even if someone dash u money to ur account and they ask for your statement. They will ask u the source of the miney

I feel so sorry for her. I hope the UK Immigration can grant her leniency on compassionate grounds due to her peculiar circumstances. I really hope help gets to her.

I agree with your point but sometimes immigrants fall into dire circumstances that require them to find out a means to survive. This is why I said they should respect the official conditions of their visa. However, to survive, they should look for odd jobs that can fetch them consistent cash payments which can help them sort out their bills and accomodations fee. If they are hardworking, they can make good money from those odd jobs. They can set a target of 2-3 years and save up enough money in an account in Nigeria. Then they can return to Nigeria and start a business. With their foreign exposure, they will succeed back home. It is all about having goals and a good plan.

The only way to avoid NI contribution is when you do cash-in hand which is illegal. NI is taken from your pay automatically.

Upwork will be a problem if it goes into your UK student bank account, the bank is obligated to notify the govt if they suspect that the money is not taxed.

If you are a student and working too many hours i suggest you think long and hard about it,
Re: Nigerian Girl Breaks Down In Tears After Her UK Student Visa Was Terminåted by MeezPat(f): 7:33pm On Sep 20, 2025
Then you can do Upwork. Move to your Nigerian dom account. Do an inter bank transfer to a sibling or family member and ask them to help pay your fees directly. Use your 20hr pay for sustainance

Thanks for the clarification. But what if the money (from UpWork) goes to my home country for my people? Would it still be a problem?

abroad is good because there is electricity, good road, water, work and basic amenities but bills will take all your money if you don't have good job or do 2-3 jobs per day.

When you submitted your study visa application your provided evidence of proof of funds. If you are not from a rich home stop playing with fire in the name of student visa. Degrees that may not even secure you any meaningful job
If you are from 9ja, unless very rich or you have scholarship, undergrad degree is not a good idea. Better come for MSc/MA.

I do and in my opinion if she appeals the decision and appear at the tribunal she will be allowed to stay back and finish her course. Cancelling her visa and asking her to leave the country immediately is too harsh, yes she broke her student visa rules but the punishment need to be measured
Let's see if she will be advised to appeal ...and if she does ...what happens. Í

You won't get an answer to your question. Some people simply cease to exist as themselves on official government records in the UK or the USA, Canada , Australia etc. They assume other identities of dead or existing people to live in the UK. When they are done with their mission in the UK, USA etc , they leave the country and never come back again. Most times, they go to another developed nation under their real identity. Like I said, it is a dark and deep way of life you won't understand. People do it to survive. Cheers.

She should appeal to the local MP and make sure local papers and networks pick it up. Likely she will be allowed to finish her degree on compassionate grounds.

I would be 90% certain of this were it not for the anti immigrant campaign by Farage's Reform Party and that Robinson chap!

We dont know all the facts though because there is also a quota of classes that must be attended.
I think she has finished.

Its her post graduate visa that as refused... I believe this is the case. In most cases this is discovered when they want to apply for the post study visa

No right of appeal for post graduate visa refusal but she can do admin review which she will most probably lose.

Her best bet is to find another viable reason do apply to stay in UK.

That would definitely still be a problem and when found out, clearly show premeditated intent to violate the terms of your visa. Don't forget that reputable corporations like UpWork are required to make regular disclosures to the government of their cash payments for tax purposes and social welfare contributions on behalf of their employees. They will not violate this law and risk fines for you. So there's a clear paper trail for anyone looking in your direction. Automatically generated by the system for any analyst that gets inspired to look into that. So keep your nose clean and live within the terms of your visa, or find a disreputable organization to work for, like the local Mafia/gangs what have you

I do not think any appeal will work.

Disorder comes from flouting the rules and once you begin to bend the rules; you create a precedence and have to then bend it for everyone. As a student, do not exceed 20 hours employment a week. That is the condition of the visa! You are there to school and not to work !!

The energy she used to set ring light and cry should be used to strategize on her next course of action.
