LAGOS POLICE COMMAND ACHIEVES MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH IN CRIME DETECTION WITH THE ARREST OF JOHN SAMUEL, A NOTORIOUS ARMED ROBBERY KINGPIN, HIRED ASSASSIN, AND MURDERER BEHIND THE ALLEN AVENUE GOLD JEWELLERY ARMED ROBBERY ATTACK. HE WAS TRACKED AND APPREHENDED IN HIS EPE HIDEOUT

John Samuel ‘m’, 28 years old, from Akwa Ibom State, in his hideout at Epe. The suspect, who was recently released from Prison, on 18/08/2025 fired and wounded a businessman Gbenga Obama and robbed him of an expensive gold necklace and other valuables in broad daylight at Gbajobi Street, Allen Avenue, Ikeja.

(2) John Samuel, an ex-convict, is vicious and notorious for armed robbery, assassination, and murder of some of his victims. He was released recently after serving a six-year jail term for capital offence of armed robbery. After his release from prison, he returned to crime and criminality with even more viciousness. He is notorious for shooting at victims before dispossessing them of their valuables.

(3) CCTV footage of the 18/08/2025 incident obtained, clearly captured the suspect when he fired at the victim with English pistol,before dispossessing him of his gold necklace jewelry while his accomplice waited on a motorcycle for their escape. The victim, who sustained serious gunshot wounds during the attack,has since been treated and discharged.

(4) The suspect, Samuel John confessed to selling the stolen jewelry for ₦4 million, far below its actual value. The Lagos State Police Command is currently intensifying efforts to arrest other members of his gang and bring them to justice. They will all be prosecuted on completion of investigation.

(5) The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohudare Jimoh, praised the gallantry and commitment of the operatives that led to the successful arrest of this vicious and notorious suspect. He assured Lagosians that discreet investigation is ongoing into the case.

(6) The Lagos State Police Command wish to reiterates its commitment to safety and protection of all residents, and hereby assure them to go about their lawful activities in peace without fear or apprehension.
The Command warns all criminally minded persons, and those who would be criminals, that Lagos has no hiding place for them.

When I said it some people went critical on me that shey he shouldn’t enjoy his life ni. That I am his enemy and questioned which part of the body he is expected to wear it.
Whereas I am not against anybody wearing N40m or 1 billion naira chain but the environment a person should wear it matters.
He wore it and when the robber came shooting at him he initially refused to surrender it and instead started running around like an headless chicken. It was surprising that he finally surrendered it after the criminal had him shot.

Most of this hardened criminals after serving their jail term they just release them to the society without deradicalizing them and they become burdens to society

Our police de try, Kudos. Even with little or no technology, they have been able to solve lots of crimes

I don't know what they are correcting in the correctional centers in Nigeria

This is impressive ...that's why it is always good to have a CCTV in your facility even if the government doesn't provide in the streets they should make it mandatory for every facility to have a CCTV

The NPF did well, although the CCTV evidence made a huge impact.

This is why homes and businesses must have CCTVs. Even if it won't stop a crime, it would help nab the perpetrators after they commit the crime.

I don't think it was thesame day he robbed the man. He was recently released and robbed the man on the 18|8|2025 according to the report

What kind of vocation is the victim into that he is donning a 40million naira necklace, again how can a convicted armed robber that's acknowledged to be extremely dangerous be set free just after six years, isn't that a question mark on the entire Nigerian criminal justice system?
