The Myth Of Monogamy’s Perfection by SpaceMarshall(op): 12:13pm On Sep 21, 2025
Monogamy is praised as the golden model of love, but in practice, it demands that one person become all things at once. The wife must be a saint in prayer, a seductress in bed, a counselor of wisdom, a chef of distinction, a mother without fatigue, and a lifelong companion with unchanging appeal. No mortal can carry that burden without cracks showing.

Polygamy, by contrast, historically functioned as a distribution system. It acknowledged that no single woman could embody every fantasy and every virtue. Instead of crushing one wife under the weight of impossible expectations, roles were spread across several women. In this sense, polygamy was not only about a man’s desire — it was also about a woman’s survival. A way to ensure that her shortcomings in one area did not make her disposable.

The modern world hides this truth under polite silence. The result? Wives burn out trying to be everything, and husbands grow bitter when their fantasies collapse against reality. Affairs bloom, resentment festers, families fracture. Monogamy is not merely a vow of love; it is a vow of sacrifice. And like all sacrifices, it demands honesty: either embrace its limits with maturity, or admit that the human heart is too vast for one body to contain.

The Society only point out the dark history of polygamy, the annoying part is most of them has never experience polygamy before yet them condemn it.
The Major antagonist of polygamy are women.

Are you literally trying to convince us that in polygamous settings, wives don't burn out and husbands don't grow bitter? This reads more like something someone who has never experienced polygamy first hand would come up with, though. undecided

Interesting statement! undecided

Polygamy cannot work without women, unless you are, of course, advocating for men to have multiple male partners. If men cannot have polygamy without the consent of women, and these women are literally saying that they do not want polygamy, how can it then be argued that polygamy is of benefit to the women? Or is polygamy all about fulfilling the man's fantasies at the expense of the women? undecided

Plenty of men whine about dealing with one partner and a couple kids. Imagine them with two and three, and a dozen kids.

So one man can be all things to all those women? Men are such “interesting” creatures! It never goes past their stomachs and loins. Women are but tools to them.

Let the woman fill their own fantasies, who cares.
Those who don't want be polygamy can opt out or go away, it's a free world.
If you don't want, don't antagonise it.

Since women are against polygamy, then men should engage their fellow men in polygamous marriage closed. undecided

Ah ah! You made clear that those against polygamy are women implying women do not have any polygamous fantasies that benefit them. So, why not engage your fellow men who all seem to have polygamous fantasies in polygamous marriage then? I don't know of even one woman who would stand against men freely engaging in that. 😩😩😩

I believe neither of the two type marriages is basically after the pleasure that comes from it or the responsibility that comes with it, but for some reason that has to do with productivity. Before we came in contact with the civilization (western education and foreign religion), our ancestors marry and have children base on their productivity. A man with multiple wives has more farming land than those with lesser. Population is an asset for a nation that is productive and a liability for those that only consume, the west has forever been trying their best to bring population down across the continent for some personal interest (neither of the religion preached against having multiple wives) by spreading so many operations and one of them is sponsoring homosexuality in Africa with so much money, which has backfired and they are doing so much to get on track again. One of the thing Elon musk and Charlie Kirk has been encouraging people for by fighting against abortions and homosexuality.

Marriage is beyond the responsibilities within homes, it is playing a big role in its environment.
