As A Man, Have You Ever Felt This Way? by FatherCHRISTMAS(op): 11:23pm On Sep 25, 2025
Have you ever felt like running away. Like just run away to where nobody or family can reach you.
It doesn't mean you don't care, but things can get overwhelming

Yes and it's a step in which you have to take right from now

. What has being a man to do with it when this is something every human being, at one time or another, has to deal with? undecided

Thanks for permitting me. Imagine him thinking it must be a man thing.

I ran away once. Home was just too much so I ended up staying with a friend. Ma would come look for me in secondary, and the entire school would warn me ma was there so I could go hide.

They found me after a week and dragged me home, and for once they were subdued a bit and let me be for a while. But it didn't last long, and I unfortunately couldn't run away again because I had no where to run to, and had to wait till I left school and went to live with my uncle.

I also ran away once as an adult, and found myself in Mexico City where I stayed for a whole year, but found out I'd packed what I ran from and taken it with me, so came back and confronted instead, which was the best thing I ever did.

Below is my favourite song from then.

Mehn... Honestly Bro.
But we just gotta find one more reason to stay strong for those who look up to us right? It's the world we're in.

Who stays strong for the guy who's always offering a shoulder for others to lean on... Sometimes, nobody.

And the other people gender-tapping, the man just wants to voice out in few words and push out the vibe that informed the thread, goan open your own threads for women who feel like running away too.

The pressures of life can be overwhelming sometimes and yes I just want to run without looking back but my loved ones , my loved ones are the reason I cant do that.

They say family is all you got. So I just keep moving and hoping that someday everything would make perfect sense.

Almost everyone has been in those shoes…
Even after leaving home to stay alone, you’d still feel like running from your own home at times…

It’s life my bro

I’m sure mothers feel like this at least once a month. If you helped create what you are responsible for then please don’t run away! May you be rewarded abundantly for your efforts. But if you had no part in creating the “problem” then Ruuuuuuun!

This thread is a depressing one. All of you need to master the art of saying no and these thoughts will be buried immediately. I learnt this simple trick of life and since then, I've been living the best life. I can now say no to anybody anytime without having a second thought. Say no to your parents, your wives, your siblings, your children, your neighbours, your friends and your pastors, nothing will happen and they will not die.

I don't think it only affects men... Life can mess us all up sometimes.

I once went AWOL last year for a whole two weeks... Life was dealing with me so bad, I became depressed... So I left everything behind, my car and smart phone, I went to stay in this wildlife care and rehabilitation center called Bambelela, it's in the middle of the forest in Limpopo, so no one would've guessed that I was there.

I volunteered to help rehabilitate the rescued monkeys there for two weeks and it really helped reduce my stress levels and boost my self confidence, nature always heals me whenever I feel down.

My family looked for me until they filed for a missing person's case, only for me to reappear two weeks later... grin grin grin

OP think it's only men who are pressured, you lie.
Today alone, in the space of fifteen minutes, three different people called with different grave issues that I had to part with money. I couldn't refuse them cause they're family. What of those that are not family? Those ones are numerous. You just do the bit you can do and the cycle continues. It's good to help if you can anyway.

I was like that too, but trust me and the process it's normal to feel that way, which shows you are are about to enter and come out of depression.

Sometimes it's that call from home that gives you panic attack.
