Oga, where you get this info sef, lol.
Which gov bond pays 30%?
Even opay will give you 18% on the first 300k and 9% on the rest of the money, beside you cannot even invest up to 5m.
Most banks will give you 14% per annum or lower, they will then use your money to buy government bonds at eg 20% or slightly more.
Some banks you can negotiate higher, i currently do 16% and have already negotiated 18% on the next circle.
The most 10m will give you at 16% is 350k in 3 months, 1.4m in 1year or 117k monthly after charges.
2m is small and wount be taken for FD, the most you can do with that is opay for all those mai mai change they call interest.
Omo, me learn am from once of my guys, him no de do an business again, he go enter one bank today, negotiate rate with manager, put the money for 3 months, collect him money go another bank, negotiate and put am for another 3 months, him say him do taya to do business. Lol.
The downside to this is that naija current inflation rate is said to be 22% which is higher than interest rates.
A alternative is to save in your Eg UK account but their interest rates no de pass 3-4% PA, the only thing na say if naira devaluate your money still holds value. But you have Eg capital of £50k, you earn more interest placing it in FD in naija banks that UK ones.
Oga, treasury bills, a form of government bond, pays 30% per annum. Least sum to buy it is 45m. Opay and others collect money from people and use it to buy treasury bills. The 18% Opay pays you is actually less of the 30% treasury bill attracts. The difference is their profit.

Yes, treasury bills pay 30% per annum.

Yes, the inflation rate is mad but it is better than losing your money doing business in Nigeria

Bros, you mix up two different things and dey teach class 😂. ‘Egg banking’ for my talk na market slang which means bulk egg supply/wholesale. The one you dey yam about (human egg preservation) na medical procedure, hospital and lab work, totally different context......So if you wan argue, at least try understand before u comment 😂. Me I dey move crates and collect weekly balance; you dey reason IVF and cryo like na you get lab pass. Ask for help if you no sabi, abeg.

Lastly,

When person say ‘add liver to fried rice’,.... E no mean say na human liver from hospital dem dey fry. Same way egg banking no mean say na hospital lab matter.....Na street supply we dey run, simple.

U want a fight and I don't have time.... I'm to busy for that so I won't fight with u...
No bro you're the one who's mixing things.

English is English slang isn't English. Because words you might take as slang might mean something else to another person that's why once it's not spoken properly it becomes confusing to the hearer.

Let me give you an example. Perch means when a bird rests on something right? That's the English definition for it. But during my schooling days we made a slag out of that word and it meant cool down. So if I want to tell you to calm down I can easily say guy perch.

But I wouldn't argue with anyone that perch means cool or calm down cos I'm fully aware that - that's not the dictionary definition of it.

In my area I know them as egg dealers and those who preserve eggs as bankers. That's the English word for both of them which a dictionary or chatgtp can easily confirm.

You're the one creating the confusion cos your slang is known only to your circle not the general populace. 😏

Bro, please can shed more light on this. Especially the how to buy fg bonds through opay part.
Okay. Please, try as much as possible to make your independent research. Most of the materials and info is up for grab anyways. You could talk to your banker though.

I will start with a question. Where do you think the huge profits our bank declare come from? Nigerian banks offer very few loan credits to businesses in Nigeria. Nigerian banks don't investment in businesses also. Most of the tech companies like Piggyvest, Flutterwave, Paystack, Moniepoint were not funded by Nigerian banks. If you research deed, you would notice Nigerian banks don't invest in businesses. Who would blame them? The Nigerian economy is not business friendly, and banks don't want to lose their money.

So, the question is this: where does Nigerian banks get most of the profits they declare every year? The answer is government bonds. There are many types of government bonds, of which treasury bills is one of them.

Government use fiscal and monetary policy to control the economy. There are other ways though. One of the monetary policies the government use to control the economy is issuance of treasury bills. Please, research and find out the current rates. In fact, there are loads of informative videos on Tiktok if you search for 'treasury bills in Nigeria'. Government sells bond when they want to take money from circulation. The interest rate they attach to the bonds can either make people (banks inclusive) buy more bonds or not.

The minimum amount for buying these bonds is 50m but you get to pay 45m. When the bonds mature, they pay you the full sum. As most people don't have 50m, people invest through third party brokers. Fintechs like Opay, Piggyvest, Chippa, etcs gets money from you, use it to buy these bonds, and pay you bank your money with interest within the stipulated time.

So, back to the original question: If I had 10m, I would simply lock it with Fairmoney. They have the highest rates. They get money from their users, use it to buy bonds and share their profits with you by giving you good rates on the money you lock with them. The only difference between the money our old banks used to collect from us when we do fix deposits and locking your money with these fintechs is that the latter pay more interest

I have said it before and will repeat myself. Nigeria economy is so volatile, you holding that 2m with no safety nets might beg for food to eat before the cock crows. Turning 2m to 10m, the only business that will sure for you is either gambling or ponzi scheme. You can choose your poison wisely.

To tell you the truth, I have been doing some research since I read your post. If one can buy them directly, why go through the banks who will cut inside the interest? Hmmm..

To be sincere. No business will turn 2m to 10m in one year except you are speculating in the stock or crypto market and it depends on your trading skills.

Business are the hardest thing to do..it depraves you of good sleep and it reduces your quality of life for a moment until you are successful.

My last question.
How will people know dat you are a supplier? Like how will they get the idea that you are into this stuff and start to patronise you?

You don't need a shop, you supply to people that buy in bulk.

Over here, the Hausas buy Palm Oil in Bulk at the price of the season.

It is actually the same. You can either buy directly from CBN or go through third party people like brokers, Opay, Fairmoney, etc if your money is less than 50m. Please, do your research very well. My money is not up to the minimum threshold so I buy through Fairmoney.

The beautiful thing about this type of investment is that you could compound your investment in 2 years. Even though you could do this with the bills, it is fun when you do that with these third party issuing houses. For example, Opay and Fairmoney pays you the interest upfront. You could also fixed the interest together with the principal and compound the whole thing. Let's say you fixed 10m with Fairmoney, they would give you 30% interest upfront. This interest comes up as new income which you could fix again for another term.

Before all these, please consider the following: Nigeria's inflation rate is madly high. I agree totally. But it is better than investing in an economy that is not business-friendly.

It's better you buy 2 big fridge, stock it with Titus, frozen chicken, turkey, crayfish, and grinded pepper...

Then buy 3 bag of rice, one bag of beans, tubers of yam, boxes of indomie, spaghetti, and a lot of cans of milk, Milo, egg, and enjoy your life till the whole foodstuff finish, at least you chop the money for ur head, than looking for how to multiply it by 5 to make it 10million in a year.....
...
Oga, The probability is close to zero.zero that you will succeed in any business that will multiply it by 5x in a year for a business u don't even know yet..
