Shock and panic have gripped social media after reports surfaced that a newly sworn-in lawyer was abducted shortly after attending the Nigerian Law School Call to Bar ceremony in Abuja. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The incident was made public by a fellow colleague of the victim, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @Rhave_official, who appealed for urgent help while sharing details of the abduction.

According to the post, the young lawyer and her sister were kidnapped on their way home, with the abductors demanding a ransom of ₦20 million.

The tweet reads:

“My friend and colleague has been kidnapped on her way home from the Call to Bar ceremony. Please we need help 🙏🙏. There’s a 20 million naira ransom on her and her sister. @PoliceNG @NBAYLFOfficial @DeleFarotimi.”

This comes just days after 4,437 new wigs were formally admitted into the Nigerian Bar during the three-day ceremony, which ran from September 23 to 25, 2025, in Abuja.

The incident has sparked outrage and concern across social platforms, with many demanding swift action from security agencies.

The whole country is just a gigantic crime scene. You wake up in the morning to the smell of, not coffee, but terrible news.

You people are talking about this one because she's a lawyer, aren't you? What about the hundreds of people kidnapped every week across this country with no one speaking for them? In fact, magnifying this lawyer's case could likely lead to the kidnappers upping her ransom. This is what happens when you do not have a functional country. You also have clowns clowning around as your political leaders. Imagine a country where your major political parties are terrorist organizations and known criminals grab power. Why wouldn't terrorism be the order of the day? This disparity underscored by the systemic failure to protect all citizens equally is sign of failing state caused by tolerance for incompetence.

Its the duty of the president
if we have any

to eradicate any form of insecurity in the country..
and not to give juicy peace deals to bandits

This insecurity is getting out of hand...the government should situp and provide security ...u can't be talking about foreign investors without security

Only God know the kind of gbola this girl go dey recieve for kidnappers den.. God why I come this country self.. Person no fit get peace of mind.. I pray she is found concious and intact, it will take almost 1 year for that girl to be normal because one of the scariest place you will we ever enter is kidnapper den. when one of my mums friend was explaining how she escaped kidnappers den, I was shcoked with was she told me she experienced it was so horrific!!!!

My cousin sis was also among those called to Bar in Abuja too. She posted this incident yesterday and I felt so bad. Just imagine the trauma this beauty will be passing through. I pray she is rescued and those behind this evil should be brought to justice.


But again. This are the issues the average Nigerians faces but all these politicians care about is 2027.

One annoying thing here is the fact that, these kidnappers will get the money and none will be caught or arrested and still we have some useless people on uniform called securities men and women. What kind of country is this ? They need to sack all our securities and employ new ones because something is wrong somewhere

What if the kidnappers knew(know) that the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces is not really commanding anything, which gave them the impetus.
