To be sincere. No business will turn 2m to 10m in one year except you are speculating in the stock or crypto market and it depends on your trading skills.

Business are the hardest thing to do..it depraves you of good sleep and it reduces your quality of life for a moment until you are successful.
I beg to differ.

Such businesses exist

BUT NO ONE WILL SPILL SUCH SECRETS

because it spells doom for the person, you become a competitor

Okay. Please, try as much as possible to make your independent research. Most of the materials and info is up for grab anyways. You could talk to your banker though.

I will start with a question. Where do you think the huge profits our bank declare come from? Nigerian banks offer very few loan credits to businesses in Nigeria. Nigerian banks don't investment in businesses also. Most of the tech companies like Piggyvest, Flutterwave, Paystack, Moniepoint were not funded by Nigerian banks. If you research deed, you would notice Nigerian banks don't invest in businesses. Who would blame them? The Nigerian economy is not business friendly, and banks don't want to lose their money.

So, the question is this: where does Nigerian banks get most of the profits they declare every year? The answer is government bonds. There are many types of government bonds, of which treasury bills is one of them.

Government use fiscal and monetary policy to control the economy. There are other ways though. One of the monetary policies the government use to control the economy is issuance of treasury bills. Please, research and find out the current rates. In fact, there are loads of informative videos on Tiktok if you search for 'treasury bills in Nigeria'. Government sells bond when they want to take money from circulation. The interest rate they attach to the bonds can either make people (banks inclusive) buy more bonds or not.

The minimum amount for buying these bonds is 50m but you get to pay 45m. When the bonds mature, they pay you the full sum. As most people don't have 50m, people invest through third party brokers. Fintechs like Opay, Piggyvest, Chippa, etcs gets money from you, use it to buy these bonds, and pay you bank your money with interest within the stipulated time.

So, back to the original question: If I had 10m, I would simply lock it with Fairmoney. They have the highest rates. They get money from their users, use it to buy bonds and share their profits with you by giving you good rates on the money you lock with them. The only difference between the money our old banks used to collect from us when we do fix deposits and locking your money with these fintechs is that the latter pay more interest
All right

RadianceRR:
If you hand me ₦2m and say “bros, turn it into ₦10m in just one year,” let’s be honest first, that’s a 400% return in 12 months. In Nigeria today, even some yahoo boys no dey see that kind turnover consistently. 😅

But since we’re talking hypothetical, let me break it down.

1. Mini-Importation + Aggressive Online Sales

Take ₦1.5m and import hot items from China: things like smartwatches, sneakers, hair wigs, or even kitchen blenders that go viral on TikTok.

Landed cost per unit: ₦4k. Selling price: ₦10k. Profit per item: ₦6k.

Buy 375 units = ₦1.5m. Sell everything = ₦3.75m. Profit = ₦2.25m.

Repeat 3 cycles in one year = ₦6m+ profit.

Add your original ₦2m, total ≈ ₦8m+. With mad marketing and a bit of luck, maybe you hit ₦10m.

2. Real Estate Flipping (Small Scale)

Buy land in a developing area for ₦2m.

With the right timing, one year later that land could be worth ₦3.5m–₦5m (especially if govt suddenly decides to build road or estate spring up nearby).

Risk: land no go appreciate as expected, or omo-onile wahala. But if stars align, that’s serious gain.

3. POS / Agent Banking Network

₦2m can buy 10 POS terminals, brand them, and place them with trusted agents in high-traffic areas.

Each terminal can bring in ₦50k–₦100k profit monthly. Multiply by 10, that’s ₦500k–₦1m monthly.

In 12 months = ₦6m–₦10m (if wahala no enter). But managing agents and security is another story.

4. High-Risk Zone: Crypto/Forex

Put ₦2m in crypto trading or forex. If you’re skilled and lucky, 400% return is possible.

But the same way it can fly to ₦10m, it can also crash to ₦200k in one bad move. 🚀💀

Only for people with lion heart.

🎯 The Real Gist

Turning ₦2m to ₦10m in one year is possible only with high risk, high hustle, or high luck.

If you want safe growth, think 20–50% per year (so ₦2m becomes ₦2.5m–₦3m).

If you want sharp growth, be ready for sweat, wahala, and sometimes heartbreak.

So if someone promises you ₦10m from ₦2m with “no stress,” just laugh small and hold your wallet tight. Na so dem dey start scam stories. 😏
is there any company you know that can sure bring goods from China to me ? With as little as 500k?

Oga, where you get this info sef, lol.
Which gov bond pays 30%?
Even opay will give you 18% on the first 300k and 9% on the rest of the money, beside you cannot even invest up to 5m.
Most banks will give you 14% per annum or lower, they will then use your money to buy government bonds at eg 20% or slightly more.
Some banks you can negotiate higher, i currently do 16% and have already negotiated 18% on the next circle.
The most 10m will give you at 16% is 350k in 3 months, 1.4m in 1year or 117k monthly after charges.
2m is small and wount be taken for FD, the most you can do with that is opay for all those mai mai change they call interest.
Omo, me learn am from once of my guys, him no de do an business again, he go enter one bank today, negotiate rate with manager, put the money for 3 months, collect him money go another bank, negotiate and put am for another 3 months, him say him do taya to do business. Lol.
The downside to this is that naija current inflation rate is said to be 22% which is higher than interest rates.
A alternative is to save in your Eg UK account but their interest rates no de pass 3-4% PA, the only thing na say if naira devaluate your money still holds value. But you have Eg capital of £50k, you earn more interest placing it in FD in naija banks that UK ones.
What bank investment you suggest for 3m. Looking at say gtb or eco?

Apart from gambling which isn't even guaranteed, it's almost impossible to invest 2m in a geninue business and get 10m after 12 months.

Businesses takes time to mature, and 2m in this economy is nothing. Meaning even if you want to go into fast moving business like foodstuffs as most people here suggested, your 2m investment would get you almost nothing.

Beans is about 95k per 50kg bag

Rice is about 65k per 50kg bag

Meaning if you buy 10 bags of each, rent a shop and sell them in derica at retail prices you'd spend 1.6m acquiring them (that's minus transportation and other miscellaneous)

Those 10 bags might take you between 3-4 months before you sell them completely. Depending on the location of your shop and the level of competition you have.

So let's look at beans...

Cost price of 50 kg bag of beans: 95k

1 derica = 1 kg of beans (close estimate for pricing)

Selling price per derica: 2,500 – 3k ( in Lagos, depending on location/market)

50 kg bag gives roughly 50 dericas, but due to spillage, stones, beans shells & measurement differences, sellers usually get 48–49 dericas per bag.

Profit Calculation

N2,800 per derica for 49 derica would give a total of about 137,200. If you minus 95k from it which is your cost price, you'd get N42,200 as profit per bag.

You should know that transport cost, market levies, storage, and owomida people can reduce that profit slightly.

So realistically, you can make about 42k profit per 50 kg bag of beans when selling in dericas, depending on your location, price, and efficiency.

If you multiply it by 10 bags you'd have 420k and if you do the same for rice you'd have about 840k. If it takes you about 4-5 months to sell off the bags then you should know that you won't even make your principal (2m) after one year let alone 10m.

So like I said, every successful business needs time to grow. Anyone promising to give you 10m with a 2m investment after one year would end up scamming you.
Omo, I like this your detailed analysis.

Meaning that all that glitters is not gold and any successful business you see took years of painstaking patience, toiling, DETERMINATION and counting the pennies plus an abundance of PATIENCE to get to where they are.

WINNERS NEVER QUIT AND QUITTERS NEVER WIN.

That's why I will always respect the husband and wife Indian / Pakistani shop keepers (small supermarkets) in the UK who painstakingly toil in their shop day and night without betraying one another or divorcing but take time and patience to make pennies in profits and put these together to pay their mortgages (both on their shop building and their personal house) and still from these saved pennies they send their kids to expensive private schools to the point that a large majority of Dental , Doctors, Accountancy and Law Practices in London are owned by Asians.

An example is Former British Prime Minister - Rishi Sunak whose parents toiled and saved to send him to expensive private schools - but the parents were united and in that marriage with a FOREVER mindset.

That's the power of marital unity, holding on to their culture, togetherness, patience and frugality. By the way, their kids don't go to any after school club or breakfast clubs like most working parents but their kids are looked after by one of their own parents imported from India or Pakistan and these grand parents often can not speak one word of English and this means that their kids only speak English in school and once at home its Punjabi or Hindi language galore and their TV stations are all in their own Language.

Just N2m? What can that do? Too small. And you want 500% roi in a year. Lol.

This kind of money is good for a single man or woman.

1. Find a distruptive innovative skill
2. Relocate to where there is cheap accomodation and stable electricity or you can easily set up a solar system
3. Buy a cheap & good laptop
4. Set aside N30k to buy for stuff every month. Buy in bulk. (Manage, manage, manage)
5. Separate yourself and go learn..
6..prepare to Stay for 2 - 3 years, until you are good with what you went there to do, and you have either gotten a job/started making money.

Many people separated themselves like this to learn coding, trading, and other valuable skills

Good luck!
Another good advice for someone young and single.

To be honest, ₦2m to ₦10m in just a year is very tough unless you’re doing high-risk trading or lucky with a viral business. For me, I’d look at real estate, not buying land and waiting years, but fractional/co-ownership models. Platforms like Keble let you spread your funds across income-generating apartments and shortlets, so you earn rental yields monthly while the property appreciates. It will not 5x in a year, but at least you’re compounding in something tangible and less likely to wipe you out.

Calculated Binary trading with a single good working strategy targeting 2% profit daily compounding for 30days while withdrawing 25% of the profit as monthly payment to myself, also risking not more than 2% daily.
In 12months it will surpassed the 10m.

My last question.
How will people know dat you are a supplier? Like how will they get the idea that you are into this stuff and start to patronise you?
People can know you are a supplier without owning a shop, you should have to take a walk to places palm oil is sold in bulk and give out your card or tell them about your business.

How you can identify such places is by asking questions.

A company I know of here in CRS do the storage and selling and return your capital and profit to you at the end of the year, then you can choose to either reinvest or stop.
That is, buying in February and selling in the ember period.

I saw this late, go into importation, exportation of items.
Their is an item I currently bought from china at 80 naira and can be sold for 500 per one here. Shipping cost is their o, but it’s just like 1 percent of the gain.
In short the item gain is like times 4 to 5 of your capital.
This is something almost everyone uses.

Unfortunately, I just flashed my phone, their are lot of stuffs one can import and make good money.

Another is exportation, buy goods like onions, yams, from north Nigeria and sell it in Lagos. A bag of onion is around 30k to 50k in north , but in Lagos is like times 3. Do market research and see.
Buy yam flour in Oke Ogun, sell it to other south west.
Buy , Kolanut, Palm oil in East Nigeria, sell it to South west.

But manufactured product in Lagos and sell it to north Nigeria. You can get mini solar devices in china and import them then sell to north.
Their are some solar devices of just like 20k.

Where you will turn 2Million to 10Million in a year. Oga, don't be naive, e no dey. If you try am, you will end up with risky ventures that will end up wasting the money.
Anyone with that mindset of 5× on ROI is not meant to be in business because he will lose all the money. Trust me. It's better to budget the money for food, at least it can last him a year or two eating and surviving than chasing 5X business model...... Which he hasn't even done before....
.
The only business he can try is
MMM, betting, Crypto trading, stock trading... etc... And u know what, no novice or first timer can pull that 5x profit in a year, they will lose all that money at last.
. If he talks of 30% gain..... Or 50% gain highest... Maybe he can have the sense to pursue legit business.. But 5x ROI? E no dey for newbie, it's better e use it to eat chicken, which can last for two years, than losing it like a smoke. I hope u understand my pov
