I can only imagine the momentarily joy on the streets of port novo and the country of Benin right now. Although they're yet to qualify but this feeling will trigger positive ripples for our dear neighboring country. No be only South Africa get neighbouring country. We sef get Benin currently topping the group. I'd rather Benin have a taste of the world cup than south Africa. So we can say all Togo, Benin as well as the big boys on the coast of west Africa have participated at the world cup. |

TheSuperNerd:So the question or the song goes thus.... What's he really good for...? For the better part of the last decade, we practically gave away our middle of the park to almost all our opponents. We ceded possession and relied solely on huffing balls to the points men. And just as soon as we do, we also lose possession. We got some goals from the said tactic but the truth is we didn't care about how we play. Of course you are not the person I should be lecturing in football, knowing your position on our midfield as well documented as can be. This is for those who say we should win anyhow. When a coach selects his starting 11, he must have roles for each person on the pitch. But what we have seen is we play anyhow and you really cant see even the imprint of the coach in what we do. And that is what really annoys me. All we see is assemblage of super stars and hope they will do magic on the pitch. For instance something as basic as passing has been reduced to aimless sideways movement when the sole aim is to put the ball in the back of the net. Intentionality is also missing. When we do finally move the balls forward, either passes are overcooked or poorly read. All because we have been used to huffing balls into the air. The aim of this response is to show how we can be sentimental in the choice of our players without actually defining how they fit into our purpose. This lies with whatever setup we have as NFF, technical committee of saboteurs and the incompetent coaching crew. As a parting shot, just because glue dey join something no mean say make we use am in place of cement take build house |

5 goals were removed. They beat lesotho 2-0 on March 21. So that 2 goals is removed and ofcos the 3goals for forfeiting to Lesotho. 2 + 3 = 5 8 - 5 = +3 (SA's current GD) solonnachi: |

Damiana5248:I knew that draw against Zimbabwe was the real arrow to the heart of our quest to qualify for the world cup. Never stopped calling it a loss even though it was a draw. If we had won that match we'd have been on 13 points just behind the group leaders |

Mujtahida:No vision, no mission. They don't play with the same tenacity as players who want to play in the World Cup. If they fail in their quest to qualify for the World Cup, they should blame themselves. They don't even play like professionals. I recall that in the qualification series for the 2006 World Cup, our players turned up after the 1-0 loss to Angola and went on to defeat Algeria in Algiers and Zimbabwe at home. Still, it was not enough, as the head-to-head rule gave Angola the edge over us. However, this group of boys has not shown the resilience and determination to achieve results against countries we have no business struggling against. I don't trust them to get favourable results in their last two games in October. I wish them all the luck, though. |

The South African Football Association [SAFA] has apologized after #BafanaBafana were docked 3 points by FIFA. "We apologise to the nation for this administrative oversight and will reflect on the steps to take at the conclusion of our qualifying campaign." SAFA, however, will appeal FIFA's decision. "The Association confirms that we have requested written reasons for the judgment and intend to lodge a formal appeal with the FIFA Appeals Committee within the prescribed 10-day period under FIFA's disciplinary rules." . |

oloriooko:That will in effect put FIFA in a precarious situation as they will need to reverse decisions taken in the past... more recently against Emile Nsue of Equatorial Guinea. That said, they can however protest the match against eagles as the goal scored against them was a handball. Although I am not sure if there has been precedents before now. More importantly, the chances of FIFA reversing the decision is an astronomical 1 to infinity |

If Nigeria inexplicably qualifies for WC the NFF should consider sponsoring this brother to at least watch one group game if we make it to the tournament. TheSuperNerd: |

Our WC group is some sticky place. Four teams relying on each other for qualification. The last round of qualifying matches will be extremely nervy. Benin fit shame bookie's favorites (NGA/SA) enter world cup. |

oloriooko:SA is just forming activity with the appeal. It can never be in their favour. Recent precedence is Equatorial Guinea. EG pursued the Emile Nsue case all the way to the Court of Arbitration in sports, and they still lost. FIFA rules are black and white so It'd be the same for SA with Teboho Mokoena. E go better make dem forgo the case. |

So our group is the only group having 1team eliminated and the remaining 5still have a mathematical chance of qualifying directly to the WC🙆🏼😂 |
