Once Jonathan and Obi contest presidential election, the trio of Tinubu, Obi and Jonathan shall share the votes in the south, incumbent Tinubu will get 25% of votes from some core north states to be reelected.

People don't realize that the reason why Tinubu won the 2023 elections was simply because the opposition was divided. The more divided they are, the easy win. GEJ could even be Tinubu's mole to assure his victory. Because the last time I checked, this man really doesn't care in becoming president again.

With GEJ on the ballot, it's most certain that PO will step aside from the race and AA will forgone his quest for the Presidency as restitution for the betrayal of GEJ by the North in 2015.

With Jonathan coming into the race and running under the structure of the PDP, there's no solid pathway to Tinubu's re-election. In such scenario, Tinubu wouldn't win any other region outside the Southwest and even the Southwest wouldn't be a landslide victory.

It’s amusing how Tinubu’s defenders suddenly discover the value of context when it comes to explaining away today’s failures. You want us to compare what Jonathan inherited and what he left behind? Fine let’s do that. But we’ll also apply the same standard to Tinubu, fairly and squarely.

Jonathan inherited a country not reeling from eight years of economic vandalism. Tinubu, on the other hand, inherited his own party's legacy, the APC, a wreckage built by Buhari, whom he defended and propped up for two terms. That’s not inheritance, that’s continuity. He said himself that he will continue from where Buhari stopped

And what has he done with that “continuity”? In just over two years, he’s overseen record inflation, unchecked naira collapse, fuel and electricity hikes, spiraling poverty and insecurity etc, infact, the worst cost-of-living crisis in decades

Yet somehow, we’re supposed to excuse all this because of what he met on ground?

You're right, but probably not on the first ballot. Take Obi out of the equation and the same outcome will be the case. Jonathan contesting will ultimately seal Tinubu's fate. I expect him to do everything to prevent Jonathan from grabbing the PDP ticket.
