Ghana🇬🇭 through, Nigeria🇳🇬 out. For the third straight time the Golden Eaglets won’t be at the FIFA U-17 World Cup. From being 5-time world champions and most successful team to missing three editions in a row. Something is seriously broken. Shame |

TheSuperNerd:My guy, I fear we are already going the way of Ghana in youth football. Ghana was in 4 consecutive finals between 91 and 97- winning twice but since then nothing. Nigeria is missing the world cup for the 3rd consecutive time and the last time we were even there, we didn't make it past the group stage even losing to Australia. Same Australia we beat 4-0 in 93 and 5-1 in 2001. The failures of our youth teams is what is affecting the senior team today from u17 to u 23 it has been failure galore in recent years . |

Nomyth:Years back we use to do open screening to sort players for the under 17, i remember during the tenure of maigari that was how it was done, open screening come fight for shirt if you are eligible and we won the world cup back to back using that method but people who think they know all critisize that method, they say our best player are in academy now see where our academy players has led us to missing the under 17 world cup three time straight. |

The last Olympic qualifiers, they were inviting failed and below average players from Moldovan, Lithuania, Azerbaijan and Malta. Corruption has destroyed our football |

Maybe we are now using real young u17 boys, compared to the usual tactics of age cheats which maybe aid us, I guess 🤷. |

Starboytwo:Nduka Ugbade's boys were the youngest we've seen in a while. Despite assembling a good crop of young talents and playing good football, he was sacked because we didn't qualify. (Mind you the team was one game from world cup qualification) Since his exit we've now missed 2 world cups in a row one of which we didn't even qualify for the AFCON. |

CAF is an unserious organisation. How can 10 teams from a 16 format competion qualify for world cup the rubbish zonal competion. This format is rubbish because rivalry between countries in the same zone may prevent the best from qualifying. In matches between rivals it's not all the time that the best team wins. Sometimes it's about grit and not quality. |

Jieta2:Open screening is better. The best talents are in secondary school or streets. How many young people have access to Academy? NFF won't agree because open camping isn't cheap |

Starboytwo:Believe me, the first set in 1985 were young. They were majorly sourced from YSFON and they won. Again, since the introduction of MRI, we have won twice and came 2nd once. There will always be problems when we have to choose just 2 between us, Ghana and Ivory Coast. |

TheGoodJoe and I talked about the Open screening method for years. Especially TheGoodJoe citing Aminu Maigari's NFF. Manu and Amuneke used it between 2012 and 2015 to bring in back to back world titles. We need to return to what works while incorporating scouting the best U16 lads across multiple academies in the country. Jieta2: |

BankyGee:It would be unfair to Osimhen's legacy if he doesn't win a major title with Nigeria. Years from now, I dont want that discussion to dent his monstrosity. This monster is gonna own nearly every major record that is Nigerian by the time he is set to retire. - Super Eagles All time Top scorer (Still loading) - CAF APOTY x1 ✅️ - Highest Scoring Nigerian and African in Serie A ✅️ - Highest Scoring Nigerian in UCL✅️ - Afcon Title (Still loading) - Afcon Top Scorer award (Still loading) - AfconQ Top Scorer x2 ✅️✅️ - Highest Ranked Nigerian player ever in Ballon D'or (8th, 2023)✅️ - Next is Kanu, 11th in 1996 - Highest Ranked Nigeriam Player ever in FIFA World Best/FIFA TheBest (5th, 2023)✅️ - Next is Kanu again, 6th in 1996. - World Cup Appearance (Loading...) Osimhen and The Super Eagles must push for Glory at Morocco 2025 Afcon. Chelle must push way beyond the Quarters he attained with Mali last time out. We have to get our hands on that trophy again. It's been a whole dozen years. 12 yrs!

A most silly take. MRI testing began in 2011. Nigeria's 2013 and 2015 WC winning classes were genuinely U17. We have been over this again and again. Get informed lest you spill garbage here. Starboytwo: |
