The primary objective of having kings is to foster and uphold respect, peace, harmony, and love. The kings of this new generation must quickly gather themselves together before its too late. It is utterly embarrassing when kings publicly demean themselves and their thrones. If kings cannot coexist peacefully, what hope do ordinary Nigerians have to thrive in this ruthless world? This situation is entirely unbelievable and unacceptable. I question whether there are any guidelines or stipulations that should be adhered to when any of these kings falter. So, this unwise video of the Oluwo of Iwo Kingdom and his other past irrational actions should NOT be used to generalize other well-put together and respected indigenous Obas across West African countries. There are better channels of communication that all members of the royal families can use to communicate and NOT resort to this kinds of open communication which the Oluwo of Iwo is largely known for. He is already married to a Northern woman so, why is he still hanging on to his forner Jamaican wife and even refered to his suspicion that the male child she has for him might NOT be his and that he has to take a DNA test. After how many years of his birth? The Iwo folks and kingmakers have to do something about this Oba of Iwo by replacing him with another respected Prince of Iwo who they can turban like they usually do historically since Iwo has always been a majority Islamic community and the FIRST EVER place in Yorubaland to have a mosque built over 500 years ago. Period. |

Oosa4sure:Just for some CLARITY here. Iwo Kingdom is LARGELY an Islamic community for some centuries now and doesn't consult Ifa divination to choose their Obas or kings. Iwo ONLY Islamically turbans their Obas which is EXACTLY what the"Eko Epe" section of Epe in Lagos State does for their king (Olu of Epe) as well. I was stunned and intrigued reading years back during the coronation of this current Oluwo of Iwo when I read that their Obas are ONLY Islamically turbanned (NOT according to the historical centuries-old traditional method of consulting Ifa). Hence, the Oluwo of Iwo's persistent Islam-centric comments and ramblings while openly denigrating the centuries-long Yoruba traditions. I hope that helps. |

delpee:Indeed, the incomplete video looks highly suspicious to me as well with all these deep-fake videos that look very real. If this is proved to be a case of digital forgery, disinformation and defamation, rapid actions MUST be taken against those behind this to deter others. I'm actually looking forward to an official rebuttal to this video because despite the Oluwo of Iwo's erratic actions sometimes, I find it highly suspicious that he would supposedly in this video be calling for a DNA test now to determine whether the son his former Olori (who is of Canadian-Jamaican descent) has for him is his. Why bringing this up now if there was any suspicion back then? |
