Listen to the video and come back to edit your comment.

Let me help you.

Minimum wage was 30,000.

The hospital outsourced security at N27,000 - Good deal.

The contractor supplies uniform, training and other logistic etc, end of day they pay N18,800.

The staff got an opportunity to speak to the governor, he was compassionate and employed them directly as staff, putting them on N80,000 monthly .

No one has done wrong here.

#18K/month salary with what I am sure, is a wife who is a stay-at-home mother.

Breeding poverty

That aside, I can bet with Tinubu's left testicle that the man in black owns that security outsourcing company and is the one pocketing the #9k from their salary.

If not for the fear of retribution from the governor, I am sure that the security man would collect a query because it will be said that he exposed his medical directory to ridicule.
The Governor has done well. Thanks to him. He should also find out where the N9k has been going to, per head, per month. If they're outsourced at N27k, it is the security company that takes 30% of the pay each month? That is too high. The governor should also follow up o, else the man in suit will make sure its his family people that are converted rather than the actual security guys. This is what happens in most establishments in this country.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has raised the monthly salary of LAUTECH security guards from ₦18,800 to ₦80,000.

The decision came after one of the guards boldly voiced concerns about their low pay during a public meeting, earning praise for the governor’s swift response.
Has he also raised the number of guards employed? By how many new recruits?

Why has he failed to raise the number of teachers well enough to make education free for all children in the state? Abi he is competing with Lagos progreThieves in the race to the bottom ni, with regards to free education?

They will soon become the criminals.

How can you employ someone to guard you and pay him what can not take care of his personal needs for a week.

While this is commendable, this is called playing to the gallery. All politicians do this to win people's hearts.

That's because the governor knows how much every level in civil service of his state earns. He didn't have to wait for someone to speak up before it's increased. One thing is to promise and another thing is to implement it.
He may not know in this case, as Lautech to have outsourced the security positions, while the outsourcing firm is responsible for the underpayment and poor welfare of the security staff.
What is Outsourcing? Outsourcing is an employment fraud!

You see ehn. We underestimate the level of labor abuse in this country. There are perhaps hundreds of thousands like this bold man suffering in silence, under the guise of outsourcing and contract jobs. As I write this, there are thousands of local government workers who are yet to be paid minimum wages. What about the wickedness against pensioners where there entitlements are withheld by governors for several years and they only get to be paid a pittance because the amount has been devalued.

But those security are not staff. Let agree that Makinde did what is good, he does not have to do it, but mercy, grace and favor showed up for them.

That lecturer, professor, MD or whatever he is in a black suit is a fool and I pray his children suffer the same way these security men suffered.

I won't be surprised if one of the management staff has affiliation with the recruitment company.

You said you give the company 27k and it's okay that the company removes 9k from it monthly? No remorse, no sense of pity. Very demonic people

They are contract staffs, and are not part of the civil service.

I used to work as an admin manager for a private security outfit. Most tertiary institutions used contract staffing for their security.

Also, that 18k is for 15 days of work. It's one day on, and one day off.

This should not be turned into publicity it comes across as a cheap political stunt. What we see here is just one issue being addressed out of the many challenges confronting the good people of the state. Some of these problems are long-standing while others are a direct result of this administration’s actions.

The truth is some people are just wicked. Wether outsourcing or not.
Let me use my own as an example. I'm working at a private farm in a village inside Ogun with the security unit. Though my main job from the security unit is documenting every damn thing that goes in and out. And make daily reports.
We from the security unit were outsource and not part of the main staffs. But our boss who collected the contract pays us 50k from the 60k the owner of the farm pays him. And to top it up. We eat twice daily with food worth #1,500-#2,000 which the owner provided free of charge.
.
We're 4 at the security unit and the first day the owner of the farm spoke to me, she told me she paid our boss 300k every month for our salaries. But I didn't even flinch or complain bcus before starting work there, our contractor boss told us the amount he's going to pay us and the other feeding benefits which I accepted wholeheartedly.
.
So what I am trying to say here is: 27k for a security unit is too small number 1. And removing 9k from it again makes it worse and makes some people heartless
