yak:I'd like to know about this as well. Emmasoft, please, what are your thoughts about Providus Bank CP? Interest rate was 20.25%, but how safe is this instrument?

mojounited:CPs are also considered low-risk investments; however, the entity issuing the CP is also very important, as it must have a good rating. The fact that Providus is even bigger now makes it more comfortable. Providus and Unity Bank just merged recently. |

Babygal2020:There is no problem with Stanbic MMF. Interest has been credited. Even if you didn't see it yesterday because it wasn't posted, the value date remains as yesterday. Let's be well guided. |

INDEPENDENCE IN INVESTMENT I - Invest intelligently. Don't just follow what they say N- Negotiate for a good and reasonable rate when applicable, and don't forget that rate is not everything. Safety of funds first. D - Depend on available and accurate data to avoid wrong assumptions and investment moves. E - Evaluate available investment options in compliance with your risk tolerance. P - Patronize government/sec-controlled firms and products, not Ponzi schemes. E - Evaluate your portfolio to align with the current economic realities N - Navigate the investment arena with caution. Not all investment windows are profitable at a given time. choose wisely. D - Determination, being deliberate and intentional, is needed when it comes to investment. It's not wishful thinking and guesswork. E - Enlarged portfolio doesn't translate to gains; the content of the portfolio matters a lot. Prioritize quality over quantity. N - Non-profitable investments may appear profitable on the surface until you check. Do your due diligence. C - Clear all doubts before you venture into any investment; don't go into what you don't understand. Be convinced and let your decision be guided by accurate data. E - Enjoy your loot or gains when you can. Investment is made for you and not you for investment. Happy Independence Day to all Investors |

abegi should i be worried i made a mistake On October 1, 2025, at approximately 4:00 PM, I initiated a transfer of 100,000 Naira. Unfortunately, during the transaction, I mistakenly used "C2500922" as the narration instead of my correct MMF account number, which is LMMF01****7001 Despite the transaction being successful from my end, the amount has not yet been reflected in my account. |

Hi everyone, I’ve been silently following this thread, and I’ve learned a lot, and even started investing myself. Unfortunately, my account officer has been giving me a lot of trouble. I placed an order for T-bills back in January, but by May, I discovered the money was still sitting in my book balance. When I emailed her about it, she insisted the transaction was done. I asked for proof, and instead of providing it, she said she would cancel and redo it. At the time, I overlooked it because I was overwhelmed with other responsibilities. Now I’ve asked her to release my money at no extra cost, but she’s defaulting again. I know that if I report to the CBN, I have a strong case - she has no reason to keep holding my funds since she already defaulted. The irony is, I only recently realized I could have been investing from home myself. In fact, the savings I invested in August have already yielded a good return. I honestly wish I was around to walk into that branch and shout it down If she fails again tomorrow, I hope I am right to escalate it to the right quarters. |

omonikiba:Sometimes relationship matters especially if you are used to calling to get things done over the phone especially because you are not available to do it yourself. However, if you don't consider that a serious issue, you may go ahead and mail her to register your displeasure/disappointment in her/the banks services. Be sure you are precise in your narration then copy all the email addresses of the bank you know and copy CBN too. That way more people and probably superiors will be aware of the situation. She will also see that you are serious and ready to go out so she will will treat your request promptly. |

omonikiba:Sorry to hear this. For some, they don't want to release the funds. You can escalate within the bank first before escalating to regulators. |

freeman67:At the bolded, that is why i just kept quiet. I don’t think any staff of any bank can try this level of nonsense with me. Not even for some weeks, 10 whole months. Something is definitely fishy. |

Pls what does the auto invest in bluenest means ? Does it means to automatically reinvest interests? |
| Re: Mutual Funds by topicsbay: 5:58am On Oct 04, 2025 |
Who else has gotten their yesterday's Stanbic IBTC Mutual funds interest? It chimed 12:00 a.m. today, the usual time the interest is reflected, but I didn't see any addition to my balance. Is this exclusive to me, or did you get yours? |
| Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 6:44am On Oct 04, 2025 |
Elui2:@Elui2, the auto invest is just a mandate you can set on your bank account that a certain amount from 5k or more be deducted from your bank account at a set date and invested into your MMF automatically. All you need is to make sure there is cash in the mandated account. On the set date, you will receive a debit alert on your bank account and a credit alert on your MMF account. The reinvest option is different. That is an option you pick to instruct the fund manager of what happens to your accrued interest. Reinvest means your interest should be reinvested automatically back into your MMF otherwise the interest is paid to your bank account every quarter. |
