Goodluck Ebele Johnathan Has Every Right To Make A Comeback In 2027 by Freshtruth(op): 9:58pm On Oct 01, 2025
Since Prof. Jerry Gana declared that former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is going to contest the 2027 presidential election, I have been seeing some derogatory posts and comments especially the ones saying he is going to lose Ogbia LGA and even his hometown, Otuoke and polling unit.

What is the crime in losing an election?
GEJ has both the experience of winning elections and of losing elections.

Your so called “best president” lost the very state he governed for 8 years, as well as his state of origin. So again, what is the crime?

In recent African political history, two former presidents have come back, contested elections, and won.

If we are not talking about rigging, then which contemporary presidential candidate can defeat Goodluck based on performance in Nigeria?

If you want to rant, let me remind you with five points:

1. Rice bag: GEJ ₦6k — BAT ₦100k

2. Dollars: GEJ ₦180 — BAT ₦1,500

3. Fuel per liter: GEJ ₦140 — BAT ₦950

4. Borrowing: Under GEJ, it was learning; under BAT, it’s professional.

5. Insecurity: Under GEJ, we could sleep; under BAT, you dare not sleep.

Infrastructure: You can’t compare BAT to GEJ.

Tribalism and religiosity: I will choose GEJ a hundred times.

APC will have no single campaign point against Jonathan. The only remaining bullet in their arsenal is to attempt to use Wike to scuttle the PDP and prevent Jonathan from clinching the ticket but that too will fail.

Let him even contest, he won't win. He will win south south votes, Tinubu south west votes, Obi and Atiku joint ticket will win south east, north east and north west. All of them will share north central

Tinubu is an advocate of Rig and Roast during elections. Will you support that school of thought in 2027 that anyone caught trying to rig should roast

I feel like those who are pushing GEJ to come back are mostly doing so for personal gains. A lot of people make good money from campaign funds, that's the way it is.
Why will GEJ think of coming back? Why can't he act as a elder stateman and support candidates that are ready to work?

They desperately want to force Jonathan into the race to cut Obis support in the south south.

Not true as Peter Obi has nothing in the South, if elections are called today and he returns to LP, like Olumide Akpata in Edo State gubernatorial elections, he is coming a distant, and very distant one at that, third.

I still maintain that those pushing him are doing for personal gains.
He should rest, if he had performed well Buhari wouldn't have won.
Don't think everyone has short memory.

The reason he’s going to contest is so that when he grows old and dies, he will not hear that he would have won if he had contested.
