I can easily predict our starting eleven from this squad list.. it's likely going to be 4-4-2 with Iwobi paired with Ndidi in midfield, hence limiting him. SMH. |

Danielnino00:Chelle is clearly desperate and out of his depth, it appears the small glimmer of lifeline FIFA gave us from those points deduction from SA has made him decide to go all out and play attacking football with a predictable 442 formation, it will be route one football. The only problem is that asking Ndidi to play as a lone #6 will come back to bite us (as it has proven to be the case time and time again), Ndidi’s legs are gone and Lesotho and especially Benin republic will capitalize on our lean midfield to cause problems. Iwobi won't provide creativity from that midfield as he's best suited as a winger where he excels for Fulham. Based on this squad, I'll just go with a 433 formation, Onyeka/Alhassan and Chukwueze would have to anchor that midfied, play Onyeka and Onyeka to protect the back 4 while Chukwueze can be deployed as a CAM and given a creative role with his dribbling abilities and ability to run at the opps defense...Iwobi will either be benched or played from the wing. |

Did Onyedika offend someone in the higher ups in NFF that Ndidi is now the darling that wants to go to one world cup to warm bench? |

The Nff have moved beyond world cup qualifications. They know the eagles are no guarantee for qualification due to their inconstencies. Nff are now building towards Afcon & friendlies to generate few change. On the squad list, the SE is not a team with robust ball playing midfielders with an for goals and has never dominate any team in midfield in the past decade. They concede possessions most times to the opponents and hit them with counter attacks from the wings. Especially the left wing. Rohr used that tactics a lot. Our national teams play mostly through the wings. Be it in the U17, U20, U23 & the SE. The coaches mostly scout for fast, strong & skillful players on the left wing or right wing. That is why producing ball playing midfielders has been an herculean task so far. The mindset is to spot the runners closest to the opponent that is why we will always see the long or high balls over the midfield. *Why is Zaidu Sanusi not listed. Bruno Onyemaechi has not been playing in Greece so far. |

Nigeria doesn't deserve to go to the World Cup abeg. Let's tell ourselves the truth. In fact, I hope Benin wins and secures the top spot. Nigeria isn't going to the World Cup. 🤣 If you like quote me later, but you'll just be acting foolish. The way our team is structured, we can't perform consistently. We'll have brief moments of joy, but we'll always flop when least expected. Until we sort out the virus that is NFF, nothing will change. If a miracle happens and we go to the World Cup (we won't), the highest we'll get is 2 points (2 draws and a loss). We might win only one game if we're lucky to face a team that doesn't even know what a football is. We've seen this script play out over and over again. Abeg make I go watch Big Brother Naija. England for World Cup 2026. It's coming home this time. ✌🏾 |

QueenJazz:Exactly my thoughts when I saw the list. The list doesn’t exact confidence or hope. The little hope I had for the qualification is gone. It’s even better they dashed my hope before they kick ball. Atleast person go just watch the games like friendly |

Can somebody explain to me why Nigerian coaches insist on playing Iwobi as a midfielder when it is obvious that he's more efficient as a forward? |

lbrichman2:It's not that bro What you guys refuse to see is that, the midfield department in Super Eagles is actually lacking Iwobi is the only midfielder who can give some kin of stability to the midfield and unexpected passes We have good midfielders like Ndidi, Onyeka, dele bashiru and etc But once it comes to calm in midfield, na only Iwobi dey bring am among our players , let's be honest Want to see what New players like Uche can bring as well but I no come understand why them no call am up...abi he dey Injury? |
