That will go a long way. Since many governors are too dumb to make the move, the Great Óbá of Benin should lead.

It even baffles me when they called this lady Iyaloja General of Nigeria. Where, when and how did she emerged as Iyaloja of Nigeria ? Where was the election held and who elected her? To best of knowledge, the part of the country I came from, there is nothing like central Market Women Leadership likewise same in the North I grew up from.

The same people constantly attack the Igbos for matters that only concerns Igbos in another region outside Igbo land like Ohaneze or Eze ndigbo, but they are the real dis-respecters of people's culture, tradition and society.

Look at Iyaloja here that her position is supposed to be restricted to just Lagos and maybe a few Yoruba states is imposing leadership and disrespecting other cultures and tradition in different parts of Nigeria, and guess what, these same Yorubas are all quiet and some even coming to to support it.

Then you look at the case of the Emir of Kano, Tinubu has ensured there are 2 Emirs till date, something that is a state issue, they are busy disrespecting the Kano emirates and their culture, still the doings of a Yoruba man and they are all quiet and and some still supporting him.


Then you look at the case of Rivers state, You removed a sitting governor and appointed a man from another state against the wish of the people of the state, these very same Yorubas were all quiet and a lot supported it.

Now pause for a moment and imagine if the people who did all these were Igbos, even the media will start writing articles about how the Igbos plotted coup to dominate Nigeria and this is likely a repeat of what happened then, I'm telling you that with what Tinubu and the Yorubas have done presently to other Nigerians if it were to be Igbos doing same under Peter Obi or any Igbo president, Igbos may have been attacked in the north and south west.

The Yorubas would have been all over the place shouting out their voices how Igbos like to dominate and so on, that's why I don't believe whatever they say about the Kaduna Nzeogwu coup that it was an Igbo coup.

From what I've learned from them, they are only looking for an action to blame the Igbos even if the action is good, and that false thing they are blaming the Igbos for is actually what they are doing or planning to do if they have the opportunity like Tinubu's presidency.

Like I do say, Tinubu's presidency exposed a whole lot in Nigeria especially from the Yorubas...

The Oba of Benin has just provided the enemies of Tinubu a much desired tonic to get to him.

The key issue is not necessarily the installation of a market women leader but the nomenclature of "Iyaloja" instead of the traditionally known "Iyeki".

It's my belief that the title can be smoothened out to assuage the feelings of the Benin people.

It's no cause to be hysterical or make a mountain out of a molehill!

Oba of Benin is well respected by his people, and he in turn defends their cultural heritage. That said, what's the meaning of the nonsense Iya loja title. Attempt to impose this on other cultures outside it's indigenous domain, is overreaching and disgusting

Thanks. The OBA said Iyaloja is Alien to Benin Tradition. He said what they have in Benin is IYEKI. That is good .

IYEKI is Benin Tradition while IYALOJA is LAGOS Tradition.

The Statement from OBA is an Historical Statement for our generation and coming generations.

We don't have IYEKI in Lagos, IYALOJA is what the AWORI the native owner of LAGOS have. The AWORI migrated from IFE.

We don't have IYEKI at Ado-Ekiti. We don't have IYEKI at ONDO. IYALOJA is what we have.

In future we or our coming generations shall revert to this.

I am not sure IYALOJA will just leave Lagos and go to Benin without any link or invitation by faction of fraction of the Market group or any native officer.

The most important message here is that IYEKI is the Benin Tradition while IYALOJA is the LAGOS Tradition.
