The 3 chances that hit the post were huge but not as moving as the big chance we wasted in Nasiru Salihu who got on the end of a world class Amos Ochoche Cross in the 2nd half... moments before Colombia went ahead.

How the Colombian GK stopped it made me stand up mehn! I was in shock. I had already said Goal!!! If only Salihu directed that header a few centimeters away from the GK, the result would be different.

The lads balled today. No caps. Flaws abound. We dont manage chaos well enough but they balled.

Not known much about football but the little I know and from d list of players Chelle released seems to me he was seriously confused about how to prosecute d remaining matches. What happens if one of d players get injured or one of them get yellow card?

i didn’t watch this match, i just woke up to read people post from the kick off to final whistle.

1. “game play time insulters”: these set of people will always use there frustrating analysis during the course of play…they will always make those who are not watching to believe the boys are totally trasshh from start to probably when there’s a goal(equalizer or winner)
2. “the strange moniker poppers”: these set of newbies or probably oldtime ghost moders will just pop out from no where and be cursing at players, after match you wont ever see them again😂😂🤣

3. “the silent optimists who doesn’t wanna argue or engage with cr@zy pessimists and bad mouthers”:

These ones will wait till the final whistle and suddenly the thread narrative of how a match was played will just suddenly change..

Congratulations to the U20 boys for making it to the round of 16. This is tournament football, anything can happen. Group stage performance is not a reflection of how far a team can go in the tournament. It's just hard work and "Luck" going forward. Wish the boys all the best.

The good players that I see there are Ochechi the right back, The 2 wingers Sani and Maigana. Others are trash

The Supernerd and Jhiday are the ones i loved Reviews from and also oga Basco video analysis of a match i didn’t watch…their reviews made me go watch the highlight …
you see those ones that frustratingly analyze every single move, they are plastic fans and anywhere belle face fans…especially when Nigeria is trailing, they will always be blinded to positives in the match…
omo i went to watch the replay to see a “Lesotho-like” flying eagles only for me to see so many brilliant moments flying eagles had…to me those moments were game changing moments…imagine hitting the woodwork clean three times and also a goal bound penalty stopped by a hand ball…and you will see people, just becos of some moments the colombians were brilliant on the ball, it automatically means the flying eagles are ekuke team…im sure the colombians fans will be saving their faces they weren’t beaten 3-1

It was one of the 3 big chances we didnt convert based on xG SOT but yeah, that Colombian GK stood tall.

Anyway, I like that Nasiru Salihu really gets himself into those positions. He scored from similar plays vs Saudi Arabia.

I will drop 4 names. Coach Aliyu should ensure they dont get so much time on the ball especially in critical game phases.

#7 Carrizo (RW), #4 Gorosito (RWB/RB), #3 Soler (LB, LWB and their captain), & #5 Milton Delgado (CDM).

These 4 guys are more dangerous than their top scorer, #9 Sarco. Everything runs through them.

Coach Aliyu must limit their influence and cut out their passing channels.

Maigana should keep Soler engaged when off the ball with Ochoche in support. He loves to overlap and come inside.

For Carrizo and Gorosito... Okoro will need big help from Haruna Aliyu or Ahmed Akinyele (if Ahmed's head is back in the game) - The LCB. Daniel Daga as the team's defence screen will also be needed to truncate the Argentine influence down that right.

Daga has to be on Carrizo most especially. He is their major creative outlet and the right channel or right half space is his habitation. Can also venture centrally.

Gorosito should be eagle watched by Okoro with help from the LCB (Ahmed/Haruna/Alatan).

Note: Whichever of these two (Gorosito or Carrizo) gets on the ball down the right, watch the other one not on the ball, making the run and block them both. Ensure they dont see progressive passing or running channels so they are forced to recycle back or lose possession when we press.

Then midfielder, Delgado should not be afforded too much time in the middle, on the ball to think or pick out progressive passing lanes. He is their creative passer from deep.

Getting in the face of these Argentines and pressing them cloesly will frustrate their plays. Be compact and explode on the counter when we get the ball.



On our attack, among other things, Coach Aliyu should keep employing the crossing tactics that finds Nasiru Salihu in space in the box. Ochoche on the right and Okoro via this left (this time coz of Sani's absence) should spam crosses when we get forward down the channels and have enough numbers overloading the Argentine box. The Argentines cant handle chaos in their box. Saw it against Cuba and Australia.
But the crossers should also employ Cutbacks for late runners like Ayuma or Daga from deep who can hit those belters. I have noticed we dont employ cutbacks.
Alternate these two crossing tactics and we could have more than a chance via the channels.


Sani Suleiman will be a huge miss and I dont trust Orseer Achichi to deliver enough threat on the LW. I see him starting vs Argentina on the left and I hope he brings his A game but I would risk playing Charles Adah Agada there on the left as a way of providing an outlet like Sani does and also acting in strong physical threat support of Kparobo Arierhi.
With Charles starting, I expect Okoro to bomb forward and provide those cutbacks like he did at the U20 Afcon and to hit dangerous crosses.
Charles knows how to track back and defend too so that is part of my decision to risk him in Sani's absence.

If Achichi starts, he must be tasked with finding Kparobo or Salihu whenever the slightest critical moment arrives, with crosses, passes, layoffs etc. And must defend like hell to not overburden Okoro.

I dont know much about Shittu Ele in attack. So cant speak of what he can bring.

Tahir Maigana on the right could be our match winner if he can hit target with one or two of his trademark Robben-esque feint-and-run dribbles while cutting inside. We will need a huge A-game from this talented kid.

Finally on our LCB issue, Haruna Aliyu will need to be more alert defensively and tidier with his passing. Ahmed Akinyele should be playing but being dropped for the Colombia game says a lot.
In any case, Alatan Azuka who came in for Okoro for the last 10mins+ vs Colombia can also capably play LCB but shaa... I have to admit Haruna have recorded more clearances per 90 than all our defenders since he stepped into the 2nd game vs Saudi Arabia.

So much to say Kog45 but I want to believe Coach Aliyu will employ same general approach as Ladan Bosso did 2 yrs ago against the technical argentines. But he must not let those 4 lads I name dropped out of his tactical sights. Their influence must be reduced to minimal in this game.

How we stop/neutralise the effects of those 4 lads is just as important as how we attack and stun the Argentines.
