Tragedy in Abia: Bride-to-Be Dies Days Before Wedding After Complaining of Chest Pain

What was supposed to be a weekend of joy in Umuahia, Abia State, has turned into deep mourning as Mirian Chinonso Sunday, a young bride-to-be, tragically passed away just two days before her traditional marriage ceremony.

The heartbreaking incident happened on Friday, October 3, 2025, ahead of her wedding scheduled for Sunday, October 5. Mirian was set to wed her fiancé, Ugochukwu Princewill (popularly known as Donish Gold), who had only recently shared their pre-wedding pictures on social media, expressing excitement and gratitude for finding love.
How the Tragedy Unfolded

According to reports, Mirian suddenly developed chest pain while heading to the market. She was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, where doctors discovered internal bleeding. An emergency surgery was performed in an effort to save her life, but despite medical intervention, she did not survive. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Family, Friends, and Fiancé in Shock

The shocking news has left her fiancé, family members, and friends in unimaginable grief. Many took to social media to express their heartbreak and disbelief.

One of the groom’s close friends, Christian Ojike Agbaeze, wrote:

“A day meant for joy has turned into sorrow. Donish Gold, my brother, take heart; you don’t deserve this pain. We were supposed to celebrate love this weekend, but instead, we are mourning. Saddest month ever. Why, God?”

Another close friend added:

“You were so full of life, healthy, and counting down to your big day. It’s so painful to believe you’re gone, just a night before your traditional marriage. I wish this was all a bad dream.”

From Wedding Preparations to Funeral Plans

The MC contracted for the ceremony also shared his grief, posting a screenshot of their recent conversations:

“She was so excited when she booked me to host her wedding. We had planned for a day of laughter and celebration, but today, we are left with tears. From marriage preparations to funeral arrangements in one night — life is truly fragile. Rest in peace, Mirian.”

Mirian’s sudden passing has become a painful reminder of life’s unpredictability. Her loved ones, especially her fiancé, are left shattered by the tragic twist of fate that turned a day of love and celebration into one of grief.
